Florida amateur astronomer recounts 'massive black rectangle' - National ufo | Examiner.com

Always fascinated by the (fairly) recent black triangle reports. For decades we've seen the triangles -- and still do -- and then, newer reports of rectangular triangles. Are they of the same source? Is the latter a new, improved version of the first? Just different models but the same intent and origin? Private (and I use that term loosely, as in private-military-industrial-complex) or truly, literally, alien? I have no idea, but I tend to reluctantly lean (because I do love a good alien scenario) towards the human made shadow government explanation. Which, in many ways, is just as scary as aliens.

Note: what's also interesting about this report is that it was made by an astronomer. Take that Phil Plait.

Florida amateur astronomer recounts 'massive black rectangle' - National ufo | Examiner.com: A Sarasota County, FL, witness recalls watching a "massive, black rectangle" crossing the sky while being pursued by two military jets, according to January 11, 2013, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

No.

1) the person describes himself as an amateur astronomer
2) the person is never named!

This is technically hearsay evidence. The witness cannot be contacted, let alone can we verify his/her credentials. Another problem:

3) "I wrote down the date and time. I can not find the paper, So I will have to guess on the date, month and year."

The witness makes a "guess" of January 2003! This is a lapse of 10 years; there is no contemporary record of this event!

A further credibility problem:

4) "I would like to get hypnotized and try to recall every detail possible."

An undocumented claim topped with a tasty dollop of pseudoscience. Sad.

In conclusion, nothing in the account is verifiable, not even the date or the existence of the witness! Therefore, it is not evidence of any kind.

> Take that Phil Plait.

An unworthy statement.
