Random Rant for the Day

There are some persnickety legal nitpicking minutiae over linking to sites, but basically, it's perfectly legal, ethical and normal in a common-sense-I'm-a-blogger-and-want-people-to-know-all-about-my-genius-insights kind of way to expect and want others to link to your blog or site. You don't need permission, you don't need qualifiers, ... if you don't want people linking to your blog, then try this: SHUT UP and stay off the internet.

So who’s behind the ”persnickety legal nitpicking minutiae over linking to sites” problem? Are you talking about in general or are you in particular being targeted.

A link is nothing more than a citiation, like saying in a text piece "in a article published 7/4/10 on page 1 of the New York Times..." Unless it's hot linking -- taking the entire post with the link - then they're should be no problem.

Do you have any links to what you're referring to? [g]

That does seem sensible to me. If you don't want people reading your stuff and linking to you -- have a private blog/site or stay off the internet. Email me and let me know what set off this rant -- you know that I am dying to know.:-)
