Tim Binnall reports on a 'snow circle' in the Eastern part of Oregon. Interesting account because, while the circle seems like a natural phenomena, the strange lights in the sky and eerie reactions of animals in the area add to the mystery.

A Quote About Ancient Aliens
That sums it up!
"Jim" being my dear one.
We still love you Ancient Aliens. It's just that, at times, it just gets so ….
You know.
But as I said. We still love you!

Crop Circle Dream Memory: Beep!
A very strange dream last night, involving giant granite -- and specifically red granite -- structures, including a ten story statue, Buddha like, yet more samurai in appearance. At one point in the dream, I said to the people i was with "I could have sworn that stature moved!" and it turned out it had. The statue was living and the ruler of the realm. This realm was clean, mostly made of stone but not uninviting. Everything was large. Wide paths, high stone walls and large sprawling buildings. Everything made of stone. Not jewels, such as rubies and emeralds but granite and similar rock. Rough in appearance and even touch and yet there was a warmth to everything. Weird, strange, but a comforting feeling. It reminded me of this dream about Bigfoot. As in that dream, this dream was by water; large man made lakes and pools of beautiful water. Aside from the moving statue and so much more, there was a crop circle in this dream.
I woke up. Still in bed, I was remembering the dream. Trying to recall every detail. The dream was so ... weirdly cool. I was remembering the crop circle part of the dream. This is what I had dreamt:
So I'm in bed, awake, savoring this dream and remembering it so I can write it in my journal. At the moment I get to the crop circle image and memory, I hear a loud, single, and very specific "beep" inside my head. It was so vivid, loud and not a "normal" sound (to be heard inside the head) that I sort of jumped. It was a definite mechanical sound.
I've had this beeping sound before, usually in the morning, when I'm awake, but still in bed. And in connection with ... anomalous things.
What this means, no idea. But as I've written before about this, and others as well, (like Daily Grail's and Dark lore journal's Greg Taylor) this beeping could be what we hear of the source of these manifestations that are of a metaphysical nature.

I woke up. Still in bed, I was remembering the dream. Trying to recall every detail. The dream was so ... weirdly cool. I was remembering the crop circle part of the dream. This is what I had dreamt:
There's a large, beautiful and intricate crop circle. We're all amazed and wonder at how it came to be. It literally appeared, not over night, but over a few minutes. One moment we were looking over at the large field where there was no crop circle. Turned our attention elsewhere for a few moments. Turned back, and there, was the crop circle. Huge and intricate.
Then a group of skeptics come along. They're loud and arguing and demand that we listen to them. The crop circle is a fake! They shout at us. And to prove it was a fake made by man to fool us, they throw little pods of dirt on the crop circle. These pods, the debunkers smugly tell us, contain a chemical that "exposes" the fakery, and bright yellow squares will show up within the crop circle. The yellow squares are proof the circle is a fake. So they thrown the pods on the circle, and stand back, big stupid grins on their faces, waiting for the proof that will reveal how fake the crop circle is.
We wait and watch. At first, the yellow squares begin to pop up. The debunkers are overcome with joy. Ha! they say. But a few moments later, the yellow turns red, then other colors, then "over rides" the crop circle. In other words, the "proof" the skeptics have shown us hasn't proved a thing. In fact, the "real" crop circle takes over, obliterating the debunker pods.
The skeptics are mad and embarrassed. Most of all, they're baffled. Confused. They can't understand that the crop circles are real and have an as yet unexplained source that transcends prosaic explanations.
So I'm in bed, awake, savoring this dream and remembering it so I can write it in my journal. At the moment I get to the crop circle image and memory, I hear a loud, single, and very specific "beep" inside my head. The Cephalopod and the Crop Circle
One of my recurring dreamscapes: my house pretty much as it is now, with the addition of a structure in the backyard. Right outside the back door is a two leveled shack type building, about ten feet by ten feet, and about ten feet high. Openings for a door and windows but no glass or door, just open "holes" ... the upstairs is a loft type area, usually with a bed, or mattress on the floor, with cozy bed covers. It's ramshackle but clean and comfortable. I'm always surprised to find this structure there.
So here we are, Jim and I, in the house which is very much like the house we're in but a bit larger, lots of people around we don't always know, some family, some not... a lot of activity. Things are confused and sometimes it's good, sometimes bad. I'm not sure of what's going on around here. Some travelling is involved; people around me here are getting ready to go on various trips.
Somehow I end up with a cephalopod. Someone gives it to me, or I find it, among all this commotion. I'm not sure what to do with it but I know I don't want to see it die. It's about six inches from top of head to end of tentacle, seaweed brown, maybe a few dark spots, featureless. Sounds ugly but I'm getting to like this thing. It's very intelligent; at least as intelligent as humans, though different. It's communicating with me telepathically.
Jim and I look around in the kitchen for something to keep it in and fill with water. I take out a glass bowl but Jim says that won't work, residue from foods will affect the octopus. Slightly offended I tell him it's clean; he says that's not what he means, that no matter how well we wash the bowls, the celphapod is so sensitive it will be affected by it. So we find a plastic basket that's not been used; it has an open weave design on it and I'm afraid the water will just run out, but we fill it to the level of the holes, put in some rocks, and put a smaller dish inside that, with water and rocks.
While we're getting these items ready, I put the cephalopod in a plastic bag to keep safe and let him know we're taking care of him. He puffs up really large, and it's then I can see his features; eyes, mouth. And now he's really communicating with me.
He starts "telling" me about crop circles; the origins, the meanings, and who's responsible for creating them. He tells me Colin Andrews, who, he also informs me, is right outside, knows about this and is doing his best to tell others -- it's an urgent time. The cephalopod tells me he needs to get back to his crop circle homes... and it's here I think, "Now, just wait a minute! Octopi don't live on land, and they don't live in crop circles! This is ridiculous."
But for some reason, I trust this creature, and believe him. It is very important I take care of this little cephalopod and I have the feeling that, while it's benign and highly intelligent, almost alien, if I don't treat this the right way things could get ugly.
(Jellyfish Crop Circle: In June of 2009, a beautiful "jellyfish" crop circle appeared in Oxfordshire field in England. Over 600 ft it is one of the largest crop designs.)

Dark Magic and Crop Circles
An interesting account from Nick Redfern on a crop circles, peacock feathers, and dark magic with sinister intent: Crop Circles and Sorcery | Mysterious Universe.
This is an interesting idea about magick and crop circles. Like the UFO phenomena in general, from sightings of objects to non-human entities and abductions, there are definitely occult aspects to all these things. (That was the subject of Redfern's book Final Events.)
Although many students of the Crop Circle phenomenon conclude the intricate formations that dominate the fields of Britain each summer are the work of aliens, evidence suggests the world of the Occult may play a far more significant role in the phenomenon than anything that E.T. might ever have to offer. An odd bit of coincidence here; a few days ago I had posted here on the Orb a dream I had involving crop circles and unseen, malevolent forces: Cold Crop Circles.

Cold Crop Circles
I've been working on a writing project; a science-fictionish, paranormal, conspiracy themed novella. It doesn't have anything to do with crop circles but my request to my subconscious to bring up ideas took a turn last night in my dream state. I woke up feeling disoriented. At the same time, I also woke up with some ideas about the direction my story will take.

The 'Mowing Devil' Investigated Swirled News, 2005
I'm standing on a little hill, in England, with Colin Andrews. We're discussing crop circles, in particular, the cases where a specific thing is mentioned, or even thought of, between two people, and within hours, a crop cirlce appears with the very designs or in the location discussed. At first, it's very pleasant standing here on this small rise, amongst the crop circles. Then things begin to change...I said that I woke up with ideas about some ways to go with my story; which, to my surprise, is a sinister direction. I like it, but it's not what I had intended when I began this project.
A wind comes up, and we find we can't hear each other very well. It's also hard to see any crop circles. We know they're close by, but they're impossible to see. Then it gets very cold. I start to whine, like a small child, "It's so cold!" and can't wait to get out of here.
At first I'm disappointed that the positive feeling I have about crop cirlces has been turned inside out. Nothing warm and fuzzy going on right now; it's cold, it's windy and gritty and uncomfortable, and we can't see anything, hear much. Then I realize that it's not the crop circles, it's something else, some other force, that is ominous and creating this disruption. That makes us feel a little better, but not much.

UFO sighting signature Sri Yantra discovered in Oregon, now found...
Oregon writer Dave Masko writes on Sri Yantra "crop circle" symbol: UFO sighting signature Sri Yantra discovered in Oregon, now found... I remember this "crop circle" symbol in eastern Oregon several years ago, but, despite this quote:
The symbolism of this sign:
According to this site, Sri Yantra mandala is the mother of all mandalas; all that follow are aspects of Sri Yantra.
I found this while looking for more on Sri Yantra: orbs appear during a Sri Yantra meditation.
Hainsworth said the “Sri Yantra” is known to “just about everyone who’s interested in UFO’s” here in Oregon, but it may not be known or understood by others.I'm not in the loop, because I didn't know anything about this.
The symbolism of this sign:
In brief, the Sri Yantra is similar to an ancient Hindu mediation symbol, “but, we’re told it’s much, much older than any civilization from India,” adds Hainsworth while presenting a recently found copy of this proposed UFO “signature” at a recent “watchers” meeting at Seaside.(thanks to Lesley at The Debris Field for link.)
According to this site, Sri Yantra mandala is the mother of all mandalas; all that follow are aspects of Sri Yantra.
It is a mandala, a geometric abstract that symbolizes the cosmos which, in this case, is also the body of the goddess. The goddess is supposed to reside in her physical, visible form in the dot or bindu at the center of the Yantra while simultaneously permeating the entire universe. This 'double presence' concept is vital in grasping the Sri Yantra. Her seat has four 'pillars': Brahma - the creator, in the Northeast; Vishnu - the preserver, in the Southeast; Rudra - the dissolver, in the Southwest; and Sadasiva - the eternal Shiva, in the Northwest.

Controlling Information: Colin Andrews on Conference Cancellation and the Future
Earlier today I posted a link to Colin Andrew's site, with a brief note on the cancellation of the Power Places International Crop Circle Conference. The conference was cancelled because, according to
Andrews, the conference coordinators refused to give in to the demands by researchers Michael Glickman and Gary King, who insisted Power Places directors dis-invite Colin Andrews, also scheduled to speak. Rather than acquiesce to Glickman's and King's ridiculous and arrogant demands, the decision was made to cancel altogether. (Andrews linked to further commentary on his post; see here.
Andrews is both understanding and respectful of that decision, yet also understands what's at stake and who's responsible for the chilling reality that there are those on the inside -- our side -- as well as the expected outside, who would control information, and our ability to think for ourselves:
The public is treated as if they are no longer considered
worthy of receiving all points of view. Free thinking has
become a threat to easily led masses and many, from all
sides, are trying to control available information.
Andrews is not surprised that this happened however, and urges us to acknowledge these realities and then move on. At least, that's how I interpret his message; we are responsible for what can happen:
The situation we find ourselves in is not unexpected. It
fits perfectly into the discussion of “2012” and the
transitional period we are in. This is a time when old
structures of deceit and manipulation are failing.
Transformation into new and better structures for the
future is underway. What the future will look like
depends on what we create in the actions and decisions
we make today. It depends on freedom of thought,
freedom of information and freedom of spirit. This is
what my research has been based on.
The point here, for me, is not whether one agrees with Andrews or anyone else; it's about access to information. There are those on the inside, let alone the outside of the fringes, who think nothing of making threats, behaving arrogantly and making demands in regards to information. That of course sends the clear message to the rest of us that we can't be trusted to think for ourselves.
I've been commenting a lot here and there about the meme that UFOlogy is dead, and how it isn't dead at all. It's shifting, as all things are, within and without the esoteric world. The demands made by Glickman and King is just one more example of the shifts taking place in "fringe world." And while that may sound flippant, I will say, New Agey as it may be, that this is very important, and does affect, and will affect, all aspects of our world on many levels; from the mainstream to the anomalous.
I was surprised to hear that Glickman pulled this low brow stunt. I don't much of the crop circle research world or the researchers but from what I've seen of Glickman -- primarily the Star Dreams DVD on crop circles -- he seemed above this kind of thing.
But, again, this isn't about agreement with this researcher or that, but the control of information, and, by natural extension, the control of "the people." It's a pitiful reality we see this over and over in all categories of Fortean, paranormal -- call it what you will -- research. That, to me, is what "hurts" UFOlogy, or Bigfootology, or whatever -ology it is you're involved in.
When I first heard Colin Andrews discuss his now famously misunderstood idea that most crop circles are "fake" I didn't want to hear it. I felt betrayed, and confused. But I listened. And found out Andrews isn't saying anything so simplistic at all --- far from it. Far from it. It seems to me that certainly fellow researchers would get that. I'll go so far as to say they do get it, and that's what makes their actions even more reprehensible. I have no proof they do get it and are lying, simply my opinion. It's difficult to believe that researchers would be so lax in their awareness of what a Colin Andrews is doing and yet go so far as to demand he be removed from the presenter's list.

The Red Bluejay: Birds and Omens
I'm standing inside a grove of trees. It's daytime. A woman is with me; she's tall, possibly in her mid to late thirties, long white hair, dressed in a long white gown, with gold trim. She's slightly pale; not unhealthy, just a white cast to her skin. She lives here, or knows all about this place, and is my guide to this place. Not many are allowed to come here, or know about this place. I don't know why I'm here exactly, or how I got here, but here I am.
I'm in the middle of the grove, the woman is behind me, slightly to my left. A blue jay appears and flies, in circles, around me, faster and faster. I am excited and surprised at both the appearance of the blue jay, as well as its behavior. The blue jay looks exactly like a blue jay, except that it's red. I call out "Look, look at that! The blue jay is red, it's red!" almost like a child would exclaim. The bird keeps flying around me, in a perfect circle, faster and faster. Now I'm feeling a little alarmed; this is strange behavior for any bird.
The woman tells me to stand still, and watch. And wait.
The red blue jay keeps flying faster, ever faster, in a circle around me. Then it changes into a hummingbird. I call out, again almost like a child: "It's a hummingbird, a hummingbird! It turned into a hummingbird!" The woman tells me to look closer, and I realize it's not a hummingbird, it's not a bird of any kind, it's an orb.
A small reddish-brown orb, a solid object, a definite machine of some kind. The orb keeps moving around me, ever faster, in a circle, as I stand there. The woman sternly tells me to stay there and watch. What I'm about to see is very important, she tells me, and I'm here for a reason.
And unfortunately, that's when I wake up.
I had this dream the night I posted this item about Colin Andrews news about an orb and crop circles. The next day I received an email from Colin Andrews. And found that Nick Redfern had a moving post about his recent experiences with birds: Dead Birds, on There's Something in the Woods.
A few days ago I experienced bird synchronicities. We were driving out Lorane Highway on our way to "The House of Mystery," Oregon's vortex in Gold Hill (a place known for being a UFO hot spot of sorts, and home to some abduction accounts, one which I wrote about here.) The night before, I had a persistent uncomfortable feeling about driving out there. As much as I wanted to see the place, I just didn't feel right about going out there. I woke up bitchy and grumpy and told Jim if he didn't want to go it was all right. He said it was fine. As we were driving, we saw vultures on the side of the road. Not unusual to see vultures but we don't often see them right on the side of the road like that, just standing there. Suddenly, just as we drive by, one swoops up into the air, a long snake dangling from its claws. We both thought that was odd, and kept driving.
I told Jim again that we didn't have to go; this time he said he didn't want to go either. By this time we were on the interstate; too far to turn back for nothing, yet, didn't want to go. He told me he couldn't explain it but had the same feeling. He didn't say anything because he didn't want to influence me, and knew I wanted to go. I assured him I couldn't explain it but had a bad feeling about going. We happily agreed to go to Wildlife Safari instead and had a great time.
On the way back, traveling again on Lorane Highway, we saw more vultures standing right on the side of the road, several miles from where we saw the first vultures. We commented on how odd this was, then noticed the vulture was standing on top of a dead deer.

An Eastern Oregon Tale
I'm not sure what the motive was for the writer here; other than obvious mocking of the UFO phenomena in general. Other than that . . .
I'm posting it here because it has to do with Oregon.
And I suppose it's the still all too typical crap like this that gets written on the topic needs to be pointed out, shaken, and scolded. For whatever it's worth.

Flash of Light and Wow! Crop Circle!
The Crop Circle Mystery, byline: Lewis Cowen, for the Gazette and Herald. A flash of light, and a crop circle appears, where none was a couple of hours earlier;Winston Keech, a "dedicated UFO hunter" and a Norwegian film maker, Terje Toftenes, filmed the event:
For years, witnesses have said they've seen small spheres, lights, and other ariel phenomenon around crop circles. Witnesses have also reported "pyschic" communications in connection with the circles, or, circle makers. I remember reading an article in, I think, UFO magazine about ten years ago, where the crop circle researcher (don't receall the name, but I don't think it was Colin Andrews) who said he had mentioned to a friend, standing alone in a field, something about Hebrew letters. The next day, there was a huge crop circle in the field, with, yes, Hebrew letters.
I know my little theory isn't the popular one, but I'm convinced the crop circles, as with the one reported on here, are the results of some kind of military technology. In my opinion, crop circles aren't made by extraterrestrials, or earth elementals, or inter-dimensional entities. Nor are they all made by Doug and Dave -- who, by the way, surely must be too aged to go tramping about in dark fields with ropes and planks -- or self styled guerilla artists having fun.
I think soon it'll come out that crop circles are man made. It'd be very wonderful if they were the communications of elementals; but I doubt it. It's possible, as with the Contactees of the 1940s, 50s and 60s, that we'll never know the real cause. (I suspect the Contactees were victims of our government as well) but we'll just have to see.
I don't rule out paranormal or ET explanations, but I don't see them as being the most likely.
At around 1.35am on July 7 Mr Keech, helped by Mr King, completed the last sweep of the area using a camera equipped with night vision. No formation was visible in the field.
Then it became intensely dark and nothing was seen. But at 3.13am there was a flash of what Mr Keech described as sheet lightning.
It appeared on the video footage and lasted four microseconds. Twenty minutes later, at 3.20am, there was enough light to make out the formation in the field below.
It was one of the largest ever seen. It measured 1,033 feet long and consisted of 150 circles, the largest of which was 164ft across.

It's possible, as with the Contactees of the 1940s, 50s and 60s, that we'll never know the real cause. (I suspect the Contactees were victims of our government as well) but we'll just have to see.
I don't rule out paranormal or ET explanations, but I don't see them as being the most likely.

Fewer Crop Circles These Days
It appears there are fewer circles lately. Nick Redfern on UFO Mystic has a thread on this news. I commented over there that my take on the circles is that they're man made; not by hoaxers, as in guerrilla artists, shills, or pranksters, but some sort of technological weapons testing, or something of that kind related to the good old military industrial complex. Nick mentions that, while the crop circles are fewer in number, there's been a rise in UFO sightings.
