It's Not Nice to Steal

Back here on the original Orange Orb at blogger.

A comment: Don't steal my stuff. Linking to my content is great, but if you do, please cite the source. You know, something like "Written by the ever insightful and charming Regan Lee at Orange Orb" or some such.

Don't just rip off the post. I've had a lot my words just copied onto other sites, without any links or citations at all. I know this has happened to just about everyone who publishes on-line. And it sucks.
It's wrong. Knock it off.

Happy New Year! And a reminder.

Happy New Year!

And a reminder that I still am posting Orange Orb over on Word Press. Google/blogger/blogspot has become extremely confusing and messy, especially given that I have many blogs. For example, my Mothman Flutterings Two blog; I can't get into the dashboard to manage my own blog. Mothman Flutterings still shows up on-line, but nothing new will be posted there until -- and unless -- Blogger/Google hell can help. Which so far, has not happened.

I posted this same post yesterday, but it didn't go through. I'm not sure if that's because I linked to WordPress, (which doesn't make sense), or what the issue is. So just search for Orange Orb on Word Press and it will get you there.

My Ego

I always give credit to those that inspire me. If I read an article, someone's blog, book, or even a social media comment that motivates me to comment, rant or rave, I give a nod to the source.

I find it both amusing and slightly annoying when I read something on, say, a blog, a day or two after I've written about the very same thing, and no credit is given. No "I saw this on Regan Lee's Orange Orb blog and got to thinking .  . . " just an obvious riff on what I recently wrote about. There are a specific few blogs that do this consistently. But, since I am disliked by some (aren't we all?) as well as considered uneducated and even mentally unbalanced, no surprise there.

It's my own personal button-that-hates-to-be-pushed, this. It's a cousin to being called a liar. For whatever reason, or reasons, I hate being accused of lying when I most certainly have done no such thing. I've felt this way since I was a child.

Updated: Owl Synchronicity!

I reposted this on the Oregon L.O.W.F.I. page a few minutes ago, and, as I was posting, I remembered something while I was in the doctor's office -- after I asked her about the owl plush (see below) she added that the other day, the topic of owls came up the group she was with. Then, searching for something unrelated to owls, I found this  -- an interview I had done some time ago, except I don't remember this at all! (I apologize to the interviewer! I'll have to listen and see what jars loose.) Anyway, at the end of the blurb introducing the interview was this:
Next
mythic owl dream

Yesterday, posting on Facebook, social media in general and here about Mike Clelland's book The Messengers. An obvious aspect of the owls  within the context of the strange is that they appear when you start talking about them. So last night, while washing the dinner dishes, I was thinking about this, wondering if I'll experience any owl synchronicity in the aftermath of posting about Mike's book. (Humbled to say, I'm mentioned in the book.) Then I had a thought about playing with "them" -- the "be careful what you wish for"  adage.

(After writing this post, went back to upload images, as happened yesterday, is not working. The owls do not want to be seen today it seems.)

Today I open the paper, and find this item about the return of the "angry owl" in Salem:

Angry owl is back in Salem | Local | Eugene, Oregon: SALEM — The year is ending the way it began in Salem, with an aggressive owl going after people.

At least two attacks have been reported more than a mile north of a park where joggers were attacked in January, said Julie Curtis, spokeswoman for the Department of State Lands.
Owl caution signs are posted to warn visitors of possible owl attacks.

Later this morning, I was in my doctor's office. I noticed a stuffed owl toy on her bookshelf. I didn't think I had noticed it before, so I asked her if she had always had that owl there. She looked over there and said "Oh, that's not an owl, it's a pneumonia germ." There's a whole world out there of germ plushies. Ew. Anyway, it looked exactly like this; this is the one:

Pneumonia germ plushie, mistaken for owl toy
And lastly, here's a quote to muse upon:

“The owl,” he was saying, “is one of the most curious creatures. A bird that stays awake when the rest of the world sleeps. They can see in the dark. I find that so interesting, to be mired in reality when the rest of the world is dreaming. What does he see and what does he know that the rest of the world is missing?” ― M.J. RoseSeduction

I Dunno . . .

You might have noticed I haven't been posting much recently. A lot of reasons; feeling that crud thing going around, MRSA infection, work, and the New Year. I don't know why, but the New Year thing always gets me down. I don't like it. No matter how crappy the old year was, I don't want to let it go. Or maybe I expect too much from the beginning of the New Year; yet it stays the same. I don't know what I expect, January isn't even over and we have eleven months to go. I dunno . . . can we say "ambivalent?"

Trickster's Realm
Anyway, I feel myself getting back to normal. Look for my new Trickster's Realm column to go up sometime tomorrow on Binnall of America. The article is about We TV's program Alien Abductions: True Confessions.

New Blog
Yes, it's true. Trickster Northwest, focusing on UFO and paranormal things in the Pacific Northwest.

Dana Howard

Synchronicity is still happening around Dana Howard. Co-blooger Richelle Hawks over at Women Of Esoterica found this tee-shirt. She also mentioned to me she found a signed edition of a book by contactee Dana Howard; I'm jealous! I recently bought one of her books as well; I found it on eBay. And more synchronicity; it was the only Dana Howard book listed on eBay, and the bookseller was right here in Eugene, about two miles away from me. Somethings telling me to pursue this, I think.

Frustrations
With MP3 players, CD drives, and software. Nothing at all to do with the paranormal or UFOs unless you think my laptop is haunted, or being controlled by MIBS from their remote location inside an unmarked, black helicopter. Nope, just had to share. I have a Mac, believed the computer geeks who insisted the SanDisck would play on my Mac, which it didn't, even after the Lepoard upgrade, now the CD drive is acting snooty. Sigh.

Women in Esoterica Blog: Help

I'm not satisfied with the title of my blog Women in Esoterica; too stuffy. Likewise, I 've never been satisfied with the template; it was a pale, dull, academic blue, then a too girly middle school pink, now a stodgy beige. I'm thinking of the dot motif, (light) but we'll see.

But, as to the title. I have a poll up there, asking for your ideas. If you have a suggestion, or like one of the ones offered, vote and let me know, at Women in Esoterica.

Cranky Mini Rant

I'm tired - exhausted -- and it's late. Okay, 8:55 pm is not "late" but when you're old and work 8 plus hours a day in a school and have all the cranky aliments I have, yes, it's late. So alls I'm gonna say for now is, Jesus H. Christ already, how many anti-UFO bloggers are there out there who have nothing better to do than go on and on and ON about how UFO bloggers are wasting time blogging about UFOs?

If you don't "believe" in UFOs fine, say so. Of course, you do realize you're wasting time writing about that, right? Hell, we're all wasting time, every one of us. I'm wasting time. So are you. And you. So there.

My feet hurt. I'm going to bed. And I better not see any links to blog entries tomorrow morning about bloggers wasting time writing about UFOs little mister!

The Website

It's slow, it's coming along, it's under construction. But it's here:
Oregon UFO

Meanwhile, I am so fed up with Angelfire/Lycos. I can't begin to tell ya! Long story and I won't bore you with the story, but . . . we'll see if they give me the good customer service I'm expecting from them. Meanwhile, it seems many places are not Mac friendly, so ridiculously ponderous, . . .

Anyway, it's creaking along but I'm working on it.

MORE COMPUTER WOES

Something is afoot with me and computers. I'd say, being the product (or victim, depending on ones perspective) of both a Jewish and a Roman Catholic upbringing, that this is happening so I don't get too happy over my new laptop. But I wouldn't say that.

Now it's my email: rlee15@uswest.net. They told me it's an "outage" and there's estimate on when it'll be cleared up. They had problems a couple of weeks ago as well. I'd switch my links over to my Yahoo account, but I'm afraid it'll once again screw up the whole Blogger/Google/email thing. It did before, that's how I lost my original Orange Orb blog.

Try contacting me at my Yahoo account: seaglow99@yahoo.com

It's always a good back-up anyway.

Update: Here's an alternate blog site as well. After what's happened here, I'm not taking any chances. It's Orange Orb on Word Press, which is pretty good, so far. I'm just exploring it now. But, if need be, I'm all set over there.

I also had my money refunded from Go Daddy; I kept the domain but not the blog. Too messy to use and they never did put it up, even after a week.

UPDATE ON BLOGGER HELL

I'm still here, seems you have to log into Google then the blog dashboard. oy.

Well, get the word out. R. Lee of the Orange Orb is still here. My adoring public will thank you, lol.

I'd write something insightful on UFOs but I'm a little wary of Blogger-ville right now.

The Demise and Return of The Orange Orb

I am still trying to get answers from Blogspot, but in switching over to their ridiculous new blog thing, which is "better" than the old blog thing, all of my brilliant insights into UFO Land have been lost. Eaten, gone, vanished, -- ceased to be. This has caused me to cry, scream, and in general freak out. Really freak out. I suppose I should blame myself for not saving a lot of my work. Sigh, I know. I know better. Still, what the hell happened within the guts of bloggerdom? No idea.

No answers, not from blogspot. I keep getting some weird loop error message, and from what I've found out so far, is that maybe my blog is still out there somewhere. It all has to do with templates and different names and whatever.

I'm too dazed to care.

I lost it all on Sunday while I was writing a piece on L.A. and ufos.

I was so frustrated I went and got a "real" host/server (at least I have domanin names now, heh) and soon I'll be switching over to them.

In the meantime, here I am, and we'll see what happens.

UPDATE: Joined the google/blogspot hybrid email list; I suppose the good news is that others are having this trouble as well. It's not good news; I don't wish this on anyone, but good to know it's blogging hell and not me. There's hope still.
