My Whitley Strieber Dream

No idea where this came from! And no idea if my working with my cards (Druid Animal oracle, Angel and Deviant Moon tarot)  before going to sleep had anything to do with the dream. Who knows.

I'm in a large school gym/auditorium. It's the 1980s. Whitley Strieber is practicing various tumbling exercises on large blue mats. Some of the mats have cracks or tears in them, and the stuffing is coming out. Sloppy repairs with duct tape have been attempted but the mats are still funky. There's a screen in front of the mats, where Strieber and some of us are watching him -- the screen is behind the scenes kind of thing. We're in rehearsals, waiting for the audience (maybe spectators is a better word since it's a gym) to arrive.

After Whitley does several exercises, which he is proud of --  if nothing else, at least for trying --  we're encouraged and do our own exercises. None of us know, really, how to do any of this, including Whitley Strieber, but we're all trying, and we all want to. We don't care what others think or how it looks. We're doing it, and that's what matters. And throughout all of this it is very clear that these tumbling exercises have everything (in some weird surrealistic dream logic) to do with aliens, UFOs, and especially, particularly, alien abductions.

At one point I say to Whiltey, and the others, after watching Strieber do some pretty difficult moves, "Oh my god, all that happened years before to me!" Meaning, yes, the exercises, but also, and more to the point, the connection between all of us here now (even though it's also 1980 something) and aliens.

I had to come back to this post, I've been thinking about it since hours ago when I first read it. It's unsettling when someone we don't personally know suddenly pops up in a dream - especially one like yours, Regan, which seems so realistic and possibly alien connected.

It reminds me of a hyper-realistic dream I had a few years ago, which I remember quite vividly. It wasn't alien/ufo related as far as I could tell. But, I couldn't help but wonder if someone/something has the ability to tap right into us when we're vulnerable - in our sleep state....a psy-ops program, negative entities/spirits, humans who are adepts at astral travel and projecting ect.

Well, my dream seemed very short and it involved, of all people, Bill O'Reilly of Fox News. Now I occasionally watch a bit of Fox, but cannot remember the last time I've ever sat through a whole program of any one on Fox. Personally I can't stand O'Reilly and his fake posturing as an "independent" and his general lack of fact checking on anything he discusses. And, I swear, I do not find the man physically attractive which might explain the dream if I did, but it doesn't explain it.

This was some time after his scandal with his former asst. that included her publishing dirty phone call conversations of him messing up two very different items and words: filafel and loofah.

In the dream, I'm suddenly with O'Reilly and we're both dressed, located in something that looks like a YWCA/YMCA shower & locker room --lots of wall & floor tile , showers, benches, lockers....O'Reilly starts yelling at me and chasing me saying "I've got to rub this Filafel on you, come on!, come on!" He's really distressed, nervous and in a hurry.... And I turn and run away yelping back at him saying with disgust, fear and annoyance " Oh you as*****, that's a Loofah and it's still wrapped up in it's package!"(like it being wrapped should even matter in the absurd context of the dream).

I could actually hear him breathing heavy as he's chasing me in this YWCA (or YMCA) setting. I can even smell the dampness of the shower area. O'Reilly then falls or slips on a wet patch of floor tile, partially slumping onto a bench (I look back at him again at this point)...Then I turn forward and push out through a door that seemed to suddenly appear out of no where, into freedom. The dream ends there and I awoke abruptly. It was hyper-realistic and so very weird.

Susan, thank you for sharing your dream. I've had the same thoughts regarding some dreams: that, while they don't have anything to do with UFOs, aliens, etc. there is a distinct UFO type feel to the dream. A nagging underecurrent, just won't go away. As you wrote: "But, I couldn't help but wonder if someone/something has the ability to tap right into us when we're vulnerable - in our sleep state....a psy-ops program, negative entities/spirits, humans who are adepts at astral travel and projecting ect."

I've had this same response many times to dreams and other events -- this reaction pops up on its own, like an unasked for but demanding voice that will be heard, even if it's not always understood.

Yes! It seems we're meant to remember these dreams. Right here, you nail it, Regan : "I've had this same response many times to dreams and other events -- this reaction pops up on its own, like an unasked for but demanding voice that will be heard, even if it's not always understood."

Kind of reminds me of the 'Tensegrity' movements Carlos Castañeda and his group were promoting right before the decline of his career.

The idea is still appealing though --that somehow we store some special memories not in the confines of our brains, but in different parts of our bodies, and that different special movements help us 'unclog' the energy currents and we can then access those memories.

PS: Thanks so much for the comment re. my MU pills :)
