Sunday Orb Thingies . . .
Bigfoot Fever: Bigfoot and Skeptics will be up on Binnall of America sometime tomorrow. Seems skeptics have Bigfoot on their brains and can't get enough . .. I was glad to read what Wm. Michael Mott, and The Daily Grail, and others have been saying about Edgar Mitchell's big time revelation that UFOs and aliens are real: he's been saying that for years. I thought I was becoming jaded when the "news" hit; "Er," I said to myself "Haven't we been here before?" . . . Still liking UFO-Mary so visit, why don't you, it's evolving into more than just "Mary" . . . Still reading Beckley and Redfern . . . find myself revisiting MIBS and black helicopters and realizing more and more that going back on UFO history is only helpful, not a hindrance as some UFO researchers believe. . . several times now in the past few days I've written on Peter Davenport's comments concerning the UFO/nuclear weapons sites connection he made at the McMinnville Festival last May, and each time, something weird happened; like late last night, I lost the article. Gone, lost, eaten up by laptop gremlins. What did Davenport say, you may ask? Well, if you know his politics, you can guess, and more on that later . . .Many years ago I read an article in, I think, UFO Magazine, about the sad and strange death of Danny Cosolaro. I've been intrigued by this ever since; read Stalking the Octopus about Kenn Thomas, of Steamshovel Press, who's been following this story since the beginning . . . wondering about the knee jerk dismissal of some UFO researchers, and some would be, wanna be fence sitting UFO researchers -- who reject the dark side of UFO research as nothing but paranoid conspiracy indulgences. . . I discuss Two Chupacabras on Frame 352 ... James Rich Studio adding more categories and will soon be offering glicee prints for a fraction of the cost of an original painting. . .and my eighty year old mother informed me the other day she wants to start a blog, and how does one go about doing one? Right on, mom! . . . Really, so much more but not enough time so this will have to do.

Oregon Rep For LOWFI

That's me. Your friendly official rep for LOWFI. I'm not sure what that means yet, but it's a cool banner and Skylaire Alfvegren, who started this whole thing and is the Queen Fortean, is astounding. Really, that's all any of us need to know.
SMiles Lewis is Texas Rep for LOWFI, which is good news! Lesley (Debris Field, Gray Matters, etc. ) is the New Mexico rep.
More to come, as it comes. . . in the meantime, here's the official press release:
L.O.W.F.I. is a research-based, journal-publishing band of urbane explorers with interests in:
all shades of the paranormal, UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena, cryptozoology and unknown animals, synchronicity and coincidence, religious cults, mass hysteria, giants and the ‘little people,’ inter/extra-dimensional visitors, oddball philosophies, evidence of pre-Columbian visitations to the southwest and other archaeological ‘anomalies,’ lost continents and vanished civilizations, spontaneous human combustion, sky falls, scientific hoaxes, earth energy/ley lines, conspiracies and enigmas, kooks and prophets, the people, places and events which make our corner of the world weird.
L.O.W.F.I. seeks to provide a clearinghouse for reports of such phenomena which will be archived and made available to the public, via a website (www.skylaire.com/lowfi.htm). We organize informal monthly salons and field trips and host visiting lecturers in an attempt to open lines of communication and create a sense of camaraderie amongst modern-day phenomenologists. Plans to publish a ganglia-tickling bi-monthly journal are in the works… but we need your support!
Binnall of America Season III Finale with VALLEE!

Tim Binnall finished out Season III in a huge way; interview with the incomparable Jacques Vallee. Amazing, astounding, fantastic! Good for Tim, and that's good for us.
Tim started off the interview with a very brief bit of practicality: Binnall Audio is in the red, donate something. Listen, Tim brings all of us very fine interviews with the big names in esoterica, and it’s all for free. He’s one of the best interviewers in pod cast land. As Tim said, “No donation is too small” so whatever you can contribute, just go here and give what you can.
On to the interview. What I love is what they got to right off; Vallee said he “still doesn’t know” what UFOs are; Tim concurred, in his usual dry style, that “none of us do, though some think they know.” So true!
I’m not going to recap the entire interview here; you’ll need to listen to it yourself. But some points were made that resonated with me and I’ll just share them.
Of course they discussed the ETH, which Vallee is “against” but it’s not so simple. Vallee says that it may be that the ETH is part of the phenomena, but that the UFO phenomena, as a whole, is more than that. That’s an important distinction. I hope I did that justice.
In other words, any theory, Vallee says, has to explain everything about UFOs, which the ETH doesn’t do.
Vallee described one case he investigated, where the witnesses were disoriented as to the direction of the UFO. This is because witnesses who’ve had close encounters are in “a field of some kind” that causes this to happen. This is what happened to me and my husband in one case. Screen memory, cover memory, missing time and, to this day, arguments between us about the memory of the direction of not only the UFO, but us. I insist we were traveling East, seeing the UFO a mile west of our house, JIm insists we were traveling West, seeing the UFO. . . well, he’s not sure. Hmmm...Were we in “a field” of some kind that altered our perceptions? Certainly possible. Damn likely, given all the other high strangeness surrounding that sighting.
I had to laugh when Vallee said that there are many good researchers who want nothing to do with the internet UFO community, mainly due to the “insults” that are flung about. Hello, are you listening? You all know who you are. Knock it off.
Ah, I love this; the UFO phenomena purposely “hides itself” in order to push away science. As we well know.
And this: Occam’s Razor ust doesn't work when dealing with the UFO phenomena. I love it! VAllee pointed out that he “likes Occams’ Razor,” but when it comes to UFOs, it doesn’t work. Such a simple tool for such a complex phenomena.
Oh, there’s so much more and I only glossed over, in simplistic terms, some of what Vallee said. Just listen to the interview, and donate something to BOA!

James Rich, Artist
Utter, complete, shameless promotion. Not self-promotion, but close. My dear significant other is at long last getting his images up on-line, so I'm promoting the heck out of it.
He even has a blog! Okay, I do all the work, he barely knows it's there, but still.
You can visit his blog here. There's a link to the site where you can view his artwork.
You can also go straight to the site itself here.

New Blog: "UFO-Mary"

I know, I probably need help, but I have a new blog: UFO Mary. Not the best title, but I wanted something that would say it's about Marian Apparitions in non-religious context and a Fortean, Paranormal UFO context.
Trickster Northwest, Regan Lee Oregon, Updated
I've updated Trickster Northwest and Regan Lee Oregon. Basically changed links around, etc and the colors a bit, but not too much of a change.
I'm also working on my website, which I've neglected for a long time. Part of the problem in Yahoo's offerings for Mac users, which isn't much. The other problem is simply a lack of time. This time I really hope to have something fairly decent up very soon.

Things
Snarly Skepticism
Lots going on at Snarly Skepticism. I had to change the comment settings after getting a few nasty comments (ah yes, the ad homs and the skeptic!) so sorry about that, but there's three, four at least new items up there.
Vintage U.F.O.
I have something about creepy clowns on Vintage U.F.O., which fits in a bit with my Trickster's Realm column on Binnall, which will be up sometime on Monday. That column is about "MIBs, Clowns and Helicopters," inspired mostly by Tim Beckley's The UFO Silencers, but also Chris O'Brien's Mysterious Valley books.
James Rich, Artist
I've been shamelessly promoting my husband's work everywhere. He's finally finished taking images of his paintings and finding a good art hosting site at Yessy.com. He has literally hundreds of paintings, so be sure to check it out regularly; he's putting up images daily.
Lulu.com: E-Books
So are, I only have one little thing up there; a collection of articles on the Trent UFO case and the McMinnville, UFO Festival. I'll more things up there in the weeks to come. You can see what's available on my Lulu Storefront.
