Elsie Conner: Out Of Darkness: Alien Abduction, Personal Journals and What to do?

Elsie Conner's blog is one I like, here's her latest (thanks Anomalist for link.) On UFO research and data, including the personal as in journals, on-lines blogs, etc. Conner asks, of the material that's been held by those researchers who've passed (or, it could be said, just moved on) what's happened to it all?
Out Of Darkness: Alien Abduction, Personal Journals and What to do?: What happened to all the research? This is not just UFO sighting reports; this is intensely personal stuff to the individual who volunteered it.

This is why I started blogging about my own experiences, including my thoughts on the phenomena. It may be messy sometimes and it's for others, if they're so inclined, to delve into it with the tools of their personal perception, biases, agendas and philosophies. http://www.anomalist.com/

Damn, Missed It!

Today, waiting for the tank to fill. Overheard the following from two attendants:

"What's that up there, I've never seen anything like that before."
"Yeah, either have I. Probably a UFO."
"Yep, guess so. Hmmm."

Of course, I'm straining to see but I'm in the car and inside a covered area. (If you're wondering why I'm in the car at the gas station it's because in Oregon, it's illegal to pump your own gas.)

So, whatever it was up there in the Oregon sky, I missed it.
I could have parked, and gotten out to look up. But frankly, traffic was getting to me and I just wanted to get home. People are nuts in parking lots. (Gas station is in a large parking lot adjacent to a mini mall.) But that's another story.

Dogs: The Latest in High Tech Para-tainment

My new Trickster's Realm column is up at Tim Binnall's glorious site:

binnallofamerica.com: Animals react to the strange in their own eerie ways. UFO lore, ghost tales and Bigfoot stories are full of examples of how their animals, mainly dogs, reacted to "something." Something usually unseen by the human witness. Barking wildly at something out there. Or, cowering under the bed. Cats hiss and flee, sometimes the family dog takes off and is never seen again. Sometimes their bodies are found; tragic demise; from Sasquatch?

Dogs, cats and other animals alert us to something...something alien, something ghostly, something definitely weird. We watch and listen to the animals, waiting, wanting, hoping to see what they see. Often times we never do see what it is they're reacting to. We just know they are. We too often sense something is wrong, something is there, and heed the animals in our lives, listening to their anomalous responses to this ... something.

Florida amateur astronomer recounts 'massive black rectangle' - National ufo | Examiner.com

Always fascinated by the (fairly) recent black triangle reports. For decades we've seen the triangles -- and still do -- and then, newer reports of rectangular triangles. Are they of the same source? Is the latter a new, improved version of the first? Just different models but the same intent and origin? Private (and I use that term loosely, as in private-military-industrial-complex) or truly, literally, alien? I have no idea, but I tend to reluctantly lean (because I do love a good alien scenario) towards the human made shadow government explanation. Which, in many ways, is just as scary as aliens.

Note: what's also interesting about this report is that it was made by an astronomer. Take that Phil Plait.

Florida amateur astronomer recounts 'massive black rectangle' - National ufo | Examiner.com: A Sarasota County, FL, witness recalls watching a "massive, black rectangle" crossing the sky while being pursued by two military jets, according to January 11, 2013, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

Orange Orb Synchronicities and the Negative Side

“The Earth is a farm. We are someone else's property.”~ Charles Fort

Last night on Coast to Coast Peter Davenport of the NUFORC reported a batch of sighting reports of orange orbs from across the country. From Florida to Idaho, orange spheres had been seen. Not Chinese lanterns or missiles but, according to Davenport, something different. (Also see UFO Stalker for similar reports. You can adjust the map parameters to your interests. )

(When using the term "orb" it is meant as a physical object, not a spirit/ghost energy orb.)

Listening to Davenport's report, I experienced an emotional jolt; a brief insight that felt like it meant something, but what, I don't know. I felt a twinge of fear or panic, something short and sharp.

For whatever reason, I had been thinking about orange orbs the past two or three days; and specifically quite a bit about the stories of orange orbs that contain negative elements. Why is it, I've been wondering, that some encounters of these orbs are negative ones, even physically harmful to witnesses?

Then, yesterday Kithra at Krystal Kave wrote up a good piece on a story that remains a mystery, and has fascinated me for some time: The Dyatlov Pass Incident. Russia, 1959. Team of ten people died mysteriously and horrifically on Kholat Syakhl mountain. Translated, the name means Mountain of the Dead. Much strangeness occurred, including sightings of orange spheres in surrounding areas during that time frame:
A group of hikers, some 30 miles south of Dyatlov Pass, were reported as saying that they had seen peculiar "orange spheres" that night. These had been seen to the north, probably in the direction of Kholat Syakhl. Similar "spheres" were also seen in Ivdel and nearby locations throughout February to March 1959. They were reported by numerous independent witnesses, including some from the military, and also from the meteorology service. However, later these were demonstrated, by Eugene Buyanov, to have been launches of the R-7 Intercontinental Missile.

Those spheres could have been missiles. They could have been alien operated craft, they could have been human made machines carrying out experiments. Given the condition of the bodies of the victims, the latter is the most likely explanation. Still, there is much about this unexplained event that intrigues, and leaves a lot of questions unanswered. In 2009, I wrote the following piece for UFO Magazine's site: The Orange Orb: UFO Hunter's 'Dark Presence' Episode and a Dream About Wolves and the Inky Black Woods. UFO Hunters was on the air at the time (damn, I miss that show!) and this particular episode was a chilling one concerning orange orbs. There were many similarities between the orange orb I saw years ago and the witnesses on UFO Hunters. I will add that both my husband and I experienced missing time with our sighting of the orange orb:
There are many parallels to my orange orb sighting -- and the sighting that started me on my path of exploration into UFOs -- and the ones discussed in the UFO Hunters episode. Many witnesses reported feelings of dread, of fear, though some had experienced feelings of elation, upon seeing these orbs. I had both: feelings of a happy intrigue when I first saw the orb, and a real goofy, almost psychedelic response right after seeing it. And yet, even though I actually walked to the front door after going inside, with the intent of going back outside to look for the orb, I couldn't do it. I couldn't open the door. I remember thinking how odd it was that here I just saw an incredible thing -- experienced an incredible thing -- yet couldn't make myself go outside to look further.
I also had the most terrifying dreams of my life right after seeing the orb. These dreams were always the same: I'm paralyzed inside a brilliant white beam of light that is so bright I can almost see through things. There is something huge above me, some kind of object. My husband is nearby but has been taken from me and I'm screaming for him, for "them" to return us to. . . or get us out of, wherever the hell we are.
These orbs were described by witnesses as being basket ball sized, or even larger, like a beach ball. That's exactly how I've been describing the size of the orb I saw for all these years. Witnesses also said they felt a premonition, or some kind of telepathic communication between the orb and themselves; I also had that experience when I first saw the orb. I had glanced up having noticed the orb, which I estimated to be about a mile away. I had the distinct feeling it was waiting for me, and as soon as I thought "What the hell is that thing?" it zoomed right to me, following us along the road. (Witnesses also reported they were followed by the orbs.) As we turned the corner to go home (our house was right around the corner) the orb stopped for a moment above a house across the road from us, then just sank down, "landing" in the backyard. Similar behavior was reported by witnesses on the UFO Hunters episode.
The MRIPA paranormal team appeared in the UFO Hunters episode. Rachel from the team left a comment at my article; here is part of what she wrote:
But I will state again, what you have experienced is something completely different from "spirit orbs." Jason and I did do an investigation with Indiana - MUFON back in July of this year. It was a woman and her family who live up in northern Indiana who witnessed one large red orb (basketball size) and a multitude of smaller white orbs (softball size) in the woods that surrounded her house. She too explained a feeling of "awe" at first and than fear. In fact she stated that the orb actually entered through her front door and left a sticky residue on her door. Her dog no longer likes to go out side at night, and when Jason and I were asking her questions, we both noticed that there was missing information that didn't fit in sequence. When I say this, I do not mean that she was telling us false information, what she was telling us was the truth. Her story to this day still has not altered any. What I'm saying is the way she was talking and her actions fit into that of people that have experienced "missing time." She couldn't recall several hours of the 2 nights that she experienced seeing these orbs. One claim that she stated that on the 2 nights that she saw these orbs she felt tired and was inclined to want to go to sleep. Anyways, I did a complete write up of this case for our website and Indiana MUFON, if you would like to read about it. Of course we didn't capture anything, but than if what is being seen is of an intelligent source - maybe they are aware when we are looking and know not to make an appearance. (kind of gives me goose bumps just thinking about that)
Are all these orange orbs of the same origin, the same source? Are they the same thing? Like the black triangles, which have been around since the 1950s, they remain a mystery. And why, if the orange orbs seen in Russia in 1959 are the same as later ones, why are the orbs still present? Fifty years and more of orbs? For what purpose? Or, are these orb sightings utterly unrelated? All we know is that the orbs remain a mystery. I do suspect that, while not completely rejecting ideas of non-human intelligences involved or responsible, the most likely explanation concerns human responsibility. But not so fast; if humans are responsible, this is as chilling as any alien or inter-dimensional entity (i.e, Djinn) explanation. For that means humans are intentionally treating the rest of us like meat bags.

Ends of the Extreme Not the Same Source

Kevin Randle's  recent piece about the wildly out out of proportion responses of Phillip Klass to UFOs (Phillip Klass and the FBI) got my mind going on a tangent about the often stated and accepted "fact" concerning skeptics/debunkers and "believers." We've all said it; that "believers/bleevers/woos" vs. "skeptics/debunkers/'bunkies" have, at their core, the same reason for their fanatical beliefs. For their stubborn, pathological clinging to their position. At some point, both sides are really doing the same thing for the same reasons. Just a part of human nature. (While I'm mainly discussing UFOs here the same applies to Bigfoot witnesses and Bigfoot "skeptics.")

Not so fast. The usual disclaimers aside about the truly unbalanced, the reason for the "believers" insistence is not for the same reasons of the debunker, or even the so-called skeptic.

For many a witness their encounter was  goddamn intense and life changing. If the witness chooses to be open about their experience, and is repeatedly accused of being a liar (at best) or insane (at worst) and everything in between, the witness, depending on his or her personality, is not going to give up. But the relentless harassment (often verging on the illegal) coming from the faux skeptics is enough to drive anyone into varying states of anger, frustration and confusion.

You can only bang your head against a wall so much before you get to the point of either shutting down --going away, never to discuss your experiences again, at least not openly-- or becoming a loud squeaky wheel that will persist.  The so-called "believer" has something solid to stand behind: their experience. What that experience was, why it was, and all of the rest surrounding paranormal, Fortean phenomena, is something else. But the fact of the experience is true. It  happened.

The skeptics (term used loosely) have nothing. Just their pathological and nasty knee jerk responses. The vulnerabilities of witnesses are not respected, but considered toys for their sneering amusement. They, like religious fanatics, often arrogantly present themselves as warriors in the great crusade against a perceived irrationally. But that's not based on anything. Least of all the witness of the UFO, or a Sasquatch, or even the more unbelievable things seen between our worlds.

It is the "skeptic" who is standing on air, shaking their fists at nothing, while the witness has something. The witness has the experience, the thing seen, the event that either uplifted or traumatized. Sometimes both. It's something that the witness believes should be told. Known. Heard.

So. The witness, after repeated insults, after accusations of being a: liar, hoaxer, money grubber, drunk, drug addict, Jew, lesbian, gay, witch, frigid, child molester, man-hater,  and so much more (many of which I've been called, many which I know others have been called) either continues with the truth of their experience, or goes away. Both are okay with the skeptic: if one goes away, then they believe they've won one for their crusade.  If one stays, the skeptic gets to play some more. It's all the same to them.

Some of us, like myself, have made the decision not to play. That's not the same as going away. I just don't play with them. I don't owe them anything, despite the "skeptic's" insistence that us witnesses do owe them explanations . If I say something, I say it. Not up to me to prove it. It's up to you to accept it, or, not. I don't care either way. As to the rest concerning insults, nothing I can do about that, unless they become illegal: threats, or libel and slander.

The point is: witnesses who continue to tell their story have something solid - their experience. As I said, what that experience was is another issue. The "skeptic" has nothing, while the witness who makes the decision to carry on despite the assaults by debunkers can be forgiven for, at times, high emotions or possible extreme responses.

From Elsie Conner: Alien Abduction Does Not Happen in a Vacuum

Thanks to The Anomalist for this link to Elsie Conner's Out of Darkness blog. Wow. An excerpt from her current post Alien Abduction Does Not Happen in a Vacuum:
Out Of Darkness: When I was very young, my father worked the night shift in town which was many miles away. A very strange thing would occur on some nights. My mother would hear voices outside of the house. She said it sounded like several voices which would get closer and louder. Here we were a mom and two little kids alone in the country with nobody around and she hears people outside the house. It scared her so much she called the police. This is a huge event. To be scared so much to actually call the police. The police came and searched the area but they could not find anything. The only explanation the cops could come up with is that perhaps some people were having a party some ways away and somehow their voices carried just right to make it seem like it was happening right outside the house. The voices would return several times but my mom only called the police the one time. There was no explanation for those events.

And then, there's this, on the "presence." No way of knowing if my own experiences (experienced by others as well) were of the same cause, but Conner's description of what her and her mother experienced sounds chillingly similar:
She knew “they” were in the room. She could sense their presence and this would occur many times over the years. But this was more than a feeling of a presence. These alien Beings have the ability to camouflage themselves so they can’t be seen but they sure can be felt. An abduuctee can feel their presence. It is a very particular sensation.

Sometimes when we read encounters that have happened to others, a visceral "click" happens, a gut feeling to be sure that really wallops you, that has with it the undeniable message of "See? See now? Get it? Remember? It's not just all in your head . . . "

Update on Barrowman

Thanks to Jenny Banbury on Twitter, I've been told that John Barrowman's Gilded Lily show did not make it, but Arrow did. Arrow is based on a DC comic; Barrowman's role is of a recurring character, not in the main cast. So there is hope for new Torchwoods. Arrow is on the CW network.

Saucer Sightings: Reindeer Bells

A new post at my blog Saucer Sightings about a possible cover memory, courtesy of my invisible alien visitors:
Saucer Sightings: Reindeer Bells: Last night, in bed, I was thinking about something that happened to me when I was a kid. I always thought it was too silly-goofy to really think about it, but it always troubled me. I must have been about five, because that's how old I was when we lived in that particular house.
