Head Transplants

Oh I am sorry but last night I had a difficult time listening to C2C's guest Dr. Sam Parnia about head transplants. So much so wrong there. Including listening to the glib factoids of this Dr. and that Dr. doing experiments on monkey head transplants. All for what? This is news of the anomalous kind? Not interesting, but very disturbing. Mysteries of Ancient Egypt - Shows - Coast to Coast AM. I want Bigfoot Contactees, Reptilians, Area 51,UFO anything, good old conspiracies. But head transplants, no.

Armory apparitions | Local News | The Register-Guard | Eugene, Oregon

Our local paper, Eugene's Register Guard, had the following story about local ghost hunters on the front page yesterday. By line: Serena Markstrom.
Armory apparitions | Local News | The Register-Guard | Eugene, Oregon: COTTAGE GROVE — A group of women who claim they can detect paranormal activity say there is something strange in the downtown neighborhood that houses the National Guard Armory.

And with the city’s blessing, they have done some investigations at the 33,080-square-foot, 1931 armory, concluding that there are several spirits with ties to the military who hang out there.
Cottage Grove is roughly twenty miles from Eugene. It's considered a UFO/Bigfoot generally supernatural hotspot. Cottage Grove was where our own orange orb journey began years ago: we drove down to Cottage Grove to visit friend, friend wasn't there, we were feeling inexplicably anxious and odd, we left, and sighted an orange orb-craft (not a spirit orb) experienced missing time, and all manner of basic UFO High Strangeness.

Your basic skeptic went along for the ghost hunting investigation; city councilman Jake Boone. I assume he was there as some sort of representative of the city, since the city had to give permission to the group to visit the armory. Personally, I wouldn't allow skeptics on my investigations, but that's just me. So lots of expected comments by Boone about how silly the whole thing is. And we are not at all surprised that Boone is "...the son of a hobbyist magician" and knows better, as an adult, since he was "...most likely being duped by his dad as a kid."

Now, one thing that is interesting about the skeptic Boone's presence (and the article seems to be more about Boone and his skepticism than the ghost hunting team) is his attempt to disprove the reality of the spirit world. At one point he asks if he could call out names of once living officers, to see if the spirits would respond. The names he called out were fake (unknown to the ghost hunters) and, a-ha! proof the whole thing is silly. That little stunt doesn't disprove a thing; one could make the argument that the spirits were responding in Trickster fashion. Annoyed, or, amused, by being teased.

And, the bullet quote pulled for the article?
"They were not trying to fool people. They were fooling themselves.” ~ Jake Boone, Cottage Grove City Councilor

This story annoyed a local citizen, who wrote a letter to today's Register Guard, calling the story "tripe" and "hookum." [Story about ghosts wasn't news, Register Guard, 7/2/13] The letter writer had a good point about the story appearing on the front page, instead of "real" news. On the other hand I find it interesting he missed the skeptic slant given to the article.

Now, all this is my own take on the piece. I have no idea how Markstrom, who wrote the piece, feels about this. I think I'll ask her.

Actress Jaime Murrary on SyFy: Defiance, Warehouse 13

As Stahma Tarr on Defiance
I like the show Defiance. Plus, Jaime Murrary is very sexy. She is also very good on Warehouse 13, another favorite show of mine,  except that show doesn't seem to have the nerve to let her character -- H.G. Wells -- and Joanne Kelly as Myka Bering -- have a sexual relationship, but she does have a sexual relationship with a female character on Defiance.   Defiance | Watch the Show, Play the Game, Change the World Tonight on SyFy. Here's Jaime talking about her character on Defiance; Stahma Tarr, Castithan wife.

Dustin W. Naef: UNEXPLAINED DISAPPEARANCES IN MOUNT SHASTA (Updated April, 2013) | Dustin W. Naef

I'm reading David Paulides Missing 411 North America and Beyond. I haven't yet read his first two books but am looking forward to reading those as well. In an interview on Coast to Coast awhile back something Paulides said about his research had me speculating about possible Bigfoot as not "just a big ape" but something more --- paranormal, for sure, fairy, shapeshifter, alien, call it what you like.  In reading 411 Missing North America, and after reading this intriguing article by Naef about extreme high strangeness surrounding disappearances, it seems something other worldly is behind these disappearances:UNEXPLAINED DISAPPEARANCES IN MOUNT SHASTA (Updated April, 2013) | Dustin W. Naef

In the above cited article, as well as brief references by Paulides in his book, it seems that something appears, at times, as an animal during disappears. A wolf, a bear, a Bigfoot type creature. In some UFO encounters and abduction/alien stories animals are sometimes reported as present. A deer or some kind of animal appears, usually eerily silent, large eyes, sometimes glowing, almost hypnotizing the person, and or leading the witness away from the known and into the unfamiliar.

Whatever the phenomenon is behind these disappearances, it is seems to me it is obvious it is something non-human. Whether or not it is extra-terrestrial or something earth bound but of non-human origin, we don't know. But after reading not only Paulides but related material it is difficult to see how one can come away from all this believing these disappearances are, while often times tragic, simply of the everyday.

YUFOLOGY: Bees

Tina Sena on a recent experience, possibly UFO/alien related:
YUFOLOGY: Bees
Sometime in the night I thought I heard bees.
It was a loud droning sound that went passed my window. I live on the third floor and for some weird reason my mind processed the sound so that it was familiar. Bees. Giant bees. These 'bees' went by and were gone. I rolled over and went back to sleep.

I like Tina's post for several reasons, one being, the sheer strangeness of this episode and yet, for all its off the wall aspects, so damn familiar at the same time. (One strange experience I had when a kid involved a "giant bee" and I always equated this with the UFO/alien phenomena.) The bed shaking and droning sounds also remind me of the physical sensations when astral projecting -- leaving the body. And we as we all know, UFO boys and girls, many a UFO encounter happens in on this physical/non-physical plane. (One example: abductee Jim Sparks speaks of being "pulled" while in bed -- no, stop with the jokes please -- we mean entities literally taking him from his self.)

Tina mentions reciting the Lord's prayer to keep the non-human entities at bay. Something I've rarely spoken about publicly is the invocation of Christian prayer, because I am not a Christian, and even anti-Christian. But when fear kicks in along with confusion, it's easy to fall back into that primitive defense mode: what I know, from childhood, is the childhood Catholic school dogma that's at the ready. To my surprise, this seems to keep these beings from getting closer. But so does the use of white light and crystals, which have also worked for me.

As Tina herself writes, who knows what her experience was, really. But it's very interesting and as always, I am struck by the juxtaposition of seeming unique, bizarre encounters with shared experiences of others.

Bus company rejects ad featuring an extraterrestrial | Openminds.tv

Bus company rejects ad featuring an extraterrestrial | Openminds.tv: Kidum hoped to have its ads in hundreds of buses in Jerusalem, but bus company Egged rejected the extraterrestrial posters. Kidum was informed via email that “it is impossible to use figures of any kind in Jerusalem, and therefore the current campaign was not approved by Egged.” A Spokesperson from Egged clarified, “It’s true that Jerusalem is characterized by more sensitivity due to its demographics. We try not to offend public sensitivities even if it occasionally damages the concessionaire economically.” Kidum reportedly issued a statement saying, “We are careful to respect all sectors in the State of Israel, and wouldn’t even consider offending any human . .

Edgar Cayce Subject of Tonight's Coast to Coast

Edgar Cayce - Shows - Coast to Coast AM

Nick Redfern: 'Holy Giant Insects!'

At Mysterious Universe, Nick Redfern has a wonderfully bizarre UFO tale to relate. This is what UFO junkies (as the witness Danielle in this story calls herself, and I am of that same world) live for! Truly incredible and so, the question is: is it true? Literal? Does it matter?

Some of this reminds me of contactee Dana Howard and her experiences in the desert. Howard did not meet with giant insectoid beings, but her frequent visits to the desert and musings on the esoteric brought her visitations from other realms.
Holy Giant Insects! | Mysterious Universe: As the helicopter got ever closer, Danielle somewhat reticently explained to me, she could see that it was, in actuality, nothing of the sort. Rather, the “helicopter” was a black-colored, and monstrously huge, flying insect of about eight to ten feet in length. What she first thought were the distant whirls of its rotor-blades, were in fact rapidly beating wings. And the calf was not hanging by “a couple of ropes” either. Rather, it was held in a vice-like grip by a pair of powerful-looking, black-colored limbs. ~ Redfern, Mysterious Universe

Jim Marrs: Secret at Red Gate

I saw this years ago. Fascinating. One aspect of all this I find particularly interesting is the use of remote viewers in tracking ET.

Celestial Reflections: Graham Hancock on UFOs, Faeries, and Shamans

Video of Grahman Hancock:
"Celestial Reflections: Graham Hancock on UFOs, Faeries, and Shamans One of the most fascinating theories explored in Graham Hancock's Supernatural is that there is a some correlation between UFO abductions, faerie lore, and shamanic experiences. In this lecture he discusses some of the overlapping elements and addresses the use of hallucinogens in shamanic practice which may date back to the paleolithic era. Brilliant!"
