Eerie Racoon Moments

Along with owls, deer, ravens and other animals, raccoons have their place in esoteric phenomena. Signaling the possible arrival of the weird, these creatures, including raccoons, stand between us and "it," whatever that it may be. A UFO encounter, with journeys on ships, contact with entities, maybe, or some sort of liminal experience. Take the experience of Dr. Kary Mullis, who had a very strange encounter with a glowing raccoon in the summer of 1985.

Consciously pulling up memories of these kinds of experiences is difficult; they usually erupt randomly. For myself, unexpected snippets -- jarring in their visceral appearances -- come to me through meditation, dreams and while viewing images.

The other night, while watching the television program Eleventh Hour, I had one of those startling moments that really jolted me. On screen, the character, driving his car on the road in the daytime, swerves to avoid hitting a raccoon who was standing in the middle of the road. (A few moments later, the character realizes the raccoon shouldn't have been there, which was a clue that something was very wrong in the area.) For some reason, that image of a raccoon standing in the road, during the day, reminded me of something. I turned to my husband and said "Didn't we see two or three raccoon's in the daytime when we lived on Friendly Street?" He remembered. I hadn't thought of that in years, but something about that image on the television recalled that memory.

We had a large sliding glass door that led out to the backyard. We lived at the top of a hill; town was right down the street, but right above us, it was rural, and the further you drove on the highway above our house, the more rural you got. One day we were surprised to see raccoons just standing there at the glass, looking in at us. It was weird. I remember how very weird we both thought it was at the time; in fact, I remember kind of screaming -- not screaming, but shouting out when I saw them. For some reason, I found their presence irritating; unusual for me since I'm an animal lover, and normally would have thought it pretty neat. Friendly Street was where we were living when we saw the "orange orb" and had the missing time, and all kinds of UFO related events happened.

I've seen raccoons in the daytime before; but rarely. Several months ago I saw a raccoon in the daytime where I'm living now; it was sickly looking and it's obvious something was wrong. It's not common to see raccoons in the daytime, but not impossible.

But something about that memory of seeing those raccoons, just standing there, watching us through the glass, was eerie.

Paranoid Thoughts

Going the depth conspiracy route, I can't help but see some threads of uber NWO stuff since yesterday in signs, symbols, actions, etc.

Obama retook the oath. He stumbled over the words as the world knows, so he retook just to be sure: "White House counsel Greg Craig called "an abundance of caution."

Senator Ted Kennedy has a seizure during the Inaugural luncheon. Caroline Kennedy withdrew her bid for senate seat. Then, didn't. Or never did. Or something. According to Keith Olbermann, she has not withdrawn.

UFO Hunters is not on tonight, instead, History channel is airing a program on John Wilkes Booth. I find that pretty surreal; what's the intent there? Obama is our new president, and the History channel sees fit to air a program on a presidential assination.

Va. Tech student fatally stabbed, suspect caught.
BLACKSBURG, Va. – A female student was stabbed to death Wednesday night on Virginia Tech's campus, triggering a crisis alert system that was revamped after a deadly mass shooting there in 2007.

Students were warned in an electronic alert Wednesday night to stay in place while police investigated the killing, and were told in a message at 8:37 p.m. that they could resume normal activity.

You Get What You Ask For: Flying Saucer Car and Power Outage

I'm reading Andrew Colvin's Mothman's Photographer III, and it's fantastic. I really do think that this book, as well as MP II, is in the top 10 books anyone obsessed with esoterica should read. Something I read in the book last night about intent and focus in the context of paranormal or esoteric symbolic events inspired me to include that with my daily intent. So I focused on asking for something to come my way today; some kind of symbol, sign, etc. of an esoteric nature.

I spent most of the day driving, coming back from the coast where I had spent the night. So I'm driving along on the highway at about sixty miles an hour, and I see in the oncoming lane an object going a good seventy ... and it wasn't until it was right by me and whizzed on by that I realized -- it was a flying saucer!!!

I looked in my rear view mirror, yep, I saw what I thought I saw! It as very low to the ground, disc shaped, with a little point in the middle. It was a medium to dark blue color. It looked like it had three small wheel but it could have had more. I couldn't see any windows; I don't know how the driver could see out. Or fit in the thing, for that matter. It was pretty small.

If it was remote controlled, I don't see how they could get away with that. Highly illegal. And dangerous. This is a major, busy highway with lots of traffic both ways, coming and going from the coast inland. And on a holiday, more traffic than usual, with people visiting the coast for the day, or the three day weekend. Seems like a dumb thing to do, but who knows.

This area of Oregon is full of alternate technology loving people; you see all kinds of hybrid, electric and pedal powered vehicles. I have no idea what this flying saucer "car" runs on, etc. but it was damn cool.

I tried to find something on-line about it but haven't found anything yet. I'll try to draw a picture of it and post it later.

Another thing that happened: I stopped at my favorite crystal store, Planet Yachats, in Yachats. As I was chatting with the owner, I commented about the "buzzy" feeling-- I get that a lot in those kinds of places -- just then, the power went out! All the lights went out; we stepped outside, and all the little shops in the small row or block had the same thing happen; no power. From looking across the street, the power was still on over there; signs still on, etc.

With Help From My Friends: Bringing Down UFOlogy

I try my best to stay out of messes within the UFO field; all those who attack and insult others have no business doing so, and I've long ago decided not to address those who do so to me. It's all just non-productive flaming and very sad. (Even while Ive tried to stay out of things, it's amazing how often I get e-mails from others who want me to get involved; even though I had nothing to do with whatever thing it is they're upset about. When I decline, I'm often dragged into it anyway. Astounding.)

However, now and then something comes up that must be addressed.

The thugs at UFO Iconoclasts and their mirror blogs have decided that I, yes, simple, little ol' me, is "destroying UFOlogy." They haven't quite heaped all the credit on me however, it seems that Lesely Gunter and Alfred Lehmberg are also co-contributors to the downfall of UFOlogy.

The smug arrogance of such an idea -- that anyone or thing can "bring down" UFOlogy is so fantastically hilarious it doesn't need to be addressed.

Really, I don't care what else these bozos have to say, except for the fact they have slimed on over that line from mere opinion to slander and libel. Here's what they have to say about me, and my co-conspirators in bringing down all of UFOlogy:
They gather ideas from others, either stealing those ideas or bifurcating them with gossipy innuendo and a mental haze that puts their psychological well-being into question.

They are UFO Destroyers because they degrade the phenomenon with their ignorance and wholesale purloining of ideas that others generate about UFOs.

Specific examples of this "stealing and gathering" or "purloining" along with arguments to support their allegations are not to be found. They just state it as fact, without backing it up. This passes for UFO commentary these days?

It's amazing to me how others in this field continue to support and hobnob with these jerks. Remember, Rich Reynolds, presumably the leader of this odious pack of drooling jerk-wits, is responsible for the very illegal and heinous crime he perpetuated on Lehmberg some time ago. Reynolds is also a shrink, (he says) which is literally frightening.

Sure, they've made fun of me in the past, insulted me, -- for some reason, they can't stand me, and that's their right. No use at all in responding or defending.

This is a bit different though, since they're accusing me of stealing. Call me a woo, a kook, a fruitcake, nothing I can do about it. We're entitled to our opinions. Call me a liar or a thief, and, while I won't defend myself since there's nothing to defend, I am going to point it out to others.

I also have to wonder why they see fit to mention my name, if I'm a nobody, which I happily admit I am. (As one commentator said on their stinky little blog, he's never heard of me -- or Lesley.) I just do what I do because I really like doing it. (Oh, and there's the part about me trying to figure out what it is I've seen and experienced; missing time, UFOs, silly things like that.) So what do they care what I have to say? I see contradictions zipping about in their thesaurus loving brains. Why be bothered about me at all? Are they really so bored as well as insecure that they think for one moment I, or anyone else, can destroy UFOlogy? I don't know if I should be insulted or honored. After all, that's some awesome crown of power to wear! Just think, me, with the help of my friends, bringing down UFOlogy all by ourselves! Pretty groovy. I like it!

So watch out, I am now giddy with power. That, combined with my penchant for stealing, which clearly means I have no morals or ethics, and the fact my "psychological well-being is in question" there's no telling what I might do! I'd be very careful if I were you out there; you're dealing with a mad woman here. Any day now, I can just see it. . . UFOlogy will be brought down! Destroyed forever! Bwahahahaha!

"Woo-Who, Probably You" on Debunklicans

Lesley comments on those within UFO culture on those who attack others for being "woo" etc. Woo -Who, Probably You on her latest blog Debunklicans.

I agree with Lesley on this:
I would also add that this theory that the Woo-Woos are somehow keeping Ufology out of the mainstream is completely unproven and seems to be total bunk to me. Ufology IS in the mainstream, it is on TV almost every night of the week and these days newspapers and other media gladly report on it because it increases circulation and ratings. 99% of people I meet are believers that UFOs could be visitors from elsewhere. There doesn't seem to be widespread argument that UFOs don't exist. You could clear the entire Ufology field of woowoos, as well as hoaxers and scammers, but Ufology would still not be reported on as real science. (italics mine)

Complete Waste of Time Blog Quiz

Lesley at Debris Field has these up all the time, and almost always, I find we get the same results. Not this time though, --- I don't think this is all that accurate. Though I do want to go to Europe...

What does this have to do with UFOs or Mothman? Not a thing!

Torchwood: Good News, Bad News

The good news is that Torchwood will return in 2009 for its third season, and with John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness. Bad news: it's only coming back for five episodes! Adding to this gaping wound of despair is that all five episodes will run in the same week; a mini-series kind of thing. Oh, and America has to wait until Spring to see Torchwood on BBC America. Still, at least it's coming back, even if it's only five episodes. For more see Marc's Sci Fi/Fantasy blog on About.com.

Raymond Fowler's Dreams

(Fuseli, The Nightmare)

The blog UFOs, et al has a post about UFO researcher Raymond Fowler's "dream" journal. Excerpts from Fowler's dreams about UFO/abduction scenarios. As Fowler himself asks, are they dreams or more than dreams -- memories of contact?
They may be nightmares, or they may be memories of real events filtered up from my subconscious in the form of dreams," he says, adding that the latter explanation is supported by circumstantial physical evidence.

I'm extremely interested in this aspect of the ufo phenomena; that's why I started my Saucer Sightings blog, to keep a record of my own dreams, as well as direct sightings, etc. Are these indirect, or, differently direct, "memories" literal memories, as in actual sightings or encounters, or is there something else at work here?

New blog: Saucer Sightings

The only reason I started this new blog, Saucer Sightings, was to keep all of my UFO sightings in one place. I got tired of rewriting any particular sighting I've had. This way, they're archived in one place. I can use it as a referral: "see my blog entry on my triangle sighting here" kind of thing. There isn't much there yet, and it really won't be much other than a chronology of specific sightings and encounters. It will also include specific paranormal encouners, like ghost sightings, etc. Which, this blog was kind of, sort of, intended to be when I started it a few years ago. But as you can see, it's become much more than that!

Open Up

I commented in my earlier post about something Stanton Friedman said in the interview with Tim Binnall: that UFOlogists shouldn't be embarrassed, and should stop being apologists for the UFO phenomena, even while studying it. I embrace this idea, even though I've been an apologist myself, and embarrassed, as to my telepathic New Agey side. Oh well, but there it is. It's true, it's me, there you go. I'd be a liar to pretend otherwise, and what do I care about smarmy self-appointed UFO authoritarian stuffed shirts who might make fun? Nothing I can do about the reactions of others. So I'll crunch my crystals all I like, thank you very much.

Meanwhile, all that aside, I understand some of the need to disassociate oneself from some aspects of the UFO phenomena. Under an often well meaning but misguided sense of credibility, many believe they need to slough off the gaudy, the loud, the silly, the weird, the uncomfortable. The logical thinking goes like this: "UFOlogy has enough problems being taken seriously, we can't afford such nonsense." Sounds quite sensible.

Just below the surface we find it isn't sensible at all. The UFO question isn't taken seriously at all by the infrastructure; never has, never will. At least, that's how it appears. It's because it's actually taken extremely seriously that they work very hard at giving the impression the opposite is the case. If that sounds like frustraintg gibberish, I'll agree it's frustrating, but it isn't gibberish. It's to be expected. That Trickster element is the swirling crazy making thing that it is, and yet, there are so many UFO researchers, pundits, investigators, etc. that don't get this. And as long as they continue to ignore the fact this Trickster trait is an innate part of the UFO phenomena, we'll remain stuck.

Not that we'll ever become completely unstuck. But is that the point anyway? To get the Big Question Finally Answered? Narrowly focused on a few minute details, some UFOlogists don't have patience or time to look around. They're missing a lot. Others say "Well, I did look, and it was fun/interesting/weird, but so what. It entertained, but didn't give The Golden Answer to the UFO Problem." Maybe that's part of the problem; seeing it as a "problem." Whether it's seen as a problem or a mystery, it's still full of contradictions, manipulations, high strangeness, and so much more. Expecting to get at the truth by excising the parts not understood or liked is pathological.

Others see themselves as doing some sort of service to "UFOlogy" -- attacking others, insulting, trotting out various witnesses or researchers and ripping them a new one. And these are the ones who accept that UFOs are a reality. With friends like that who needs a Shermer, Mcgaha or Nye? "But we need to be critical!" is the logical response. Yes, but unless one has proof, and I mean solid, real, actual, and legal proof that someone is a fraud, or a liar, it's a dangerous game to play. Libel and slander aren't far off. The rest is just bullying; being a big fat poopy-head simply because you can. Wow, good for you.

Along with all this: the Trickster element, the gaudy, weird, even embarrassing, the uncomfortable, is that "the UFO phenomena" includes us. "UFOlogy" isn't just the thing seen in the sky. We're also a part of the thing we call UFOlogy, or The UFO Phenomena . . . we are not separate from it. We are not objective, we are not immune, we do not stand outside while commenting on what goes on, we're in it. The very moment we decided to get involved, for whatever reason, we became a part of "ufology" just as much as all the rest of it. Some like to parse these things, labeling the various elements and rating them; dividing the players into inside or outside, liars or weirdos. . . doesn't matter. We're still all in it.

Instead of being combative and defensive while at the same time obsequious by whimpering at the infrastructure (government disclosure movement, academia, skeptoids, big science, religious institutions. . .) we need to relax. I don't mean relax standards or critical thinking, but relax so we can think. Think bigger, deeper, more openly. Consider. Open ourselves to more. To other.

We can't do that if we have our dukes up all the time.

John Podesta: UFO Disclosure

Stanton Friedman on BOA

Season 4 of Binnall of America's podcast is up and going, and Tim Binnall interviewed Stanton Friedman recently; you can listen to the interview here.

Overall it was a fantastic interview! Tim has been criticized by some for being too exuberant, and not enough grilling of guests. But that's what I like about Tim; I agree with his philosophy that he should let the guest talk. We can make up our own minds. It's not a court of law. And why not be exuberant? We need more of that everywhere, these days. Tim does his homework, he knows the work his guests have done, is familiar with their books, etc. and asks good questions.

Friedman was great; and there are two points he made in particular that I think are very important to keep in mind. The first point was about focus and intent on the part of researcher. (When I say "researcher" I mean anyone involved in exploring UFOs.) Don't be an "apologist" Stanton said, for the UFO phenomena. Own it, baby! lol. Seriously, an excellent point. It often seems to me that some UFO researchers and writers are embarrassed by aspects of the phenomena. Well, it's all part of the phenomena, so get over it. Focus on your particular UFO path, don't apologize for it -- for any of it -- and do the work, wherever that takes you, whatever that means for you.

The second point made was regarding the mystical, metaphysical side to the UFO phenomena. Out of body experiences, meditation, telepathy, etc. What did Stanton think of that in regards to UFOs? Stanton said (I'm paraphrasing) that why wouldn't a technologically advanced species be aware of these things? Why wouldn't they know how to use these abilities, manipulate them? (Or maybe they seem mystical to us but they just aren't; it's their uber-technology that strikes us a magic; magick. But I don't think it's that simple.) I was surprised at Stanton's easy, accepting response to the question because I've always considered a nuts and bolts kind of guy, and he is, but he also goes where data leads him.

Excellent interview, and as always, thank you to Tim Binnall for bringing us -- for free -- such interesting interviews!

From Church of UFOlogy: SYNCHRONICITY!

(image source: Crowded Skies.com; image color manipulated by me.)

A green glow while hunting, that psychic feeling, and synchronicity.

From the Church of UFOlogy, a story about green glows, ufos, and that psychic feeling that "they" know you know they're there.

Two hunters, one who had seen strange green glows coming from below the bluff he was camping at, see the glow again. The first time the hunter saw the glow from his sleeping bag, he was "too tired" to investigate. This strange apathy is common in UFO reports. (I'm reminded of a story a couple I knew about ten years ago told me. Camping in Colorado, they saw a green glow, also in a depression. They investigated, saw a disk shaped craft on the ground, with portholes. They saw beings behind the windows, and some with wands with green glowing tips. The couple acknowledged how strange it was but instead of calling the sheriff, or alerting others, they calmly went back to their tent and went to sleep.) With his hunting partner, they go to look, and see landed ufos, with "men" around them:
At this point I woke my partner up. He became hysterical and wanted to leave. I asked him to control himself for a moment while I looked through the binoculars. As I watched I had the uncanny feeling that the "men" were well aware of my observing them.

The two hunters become hysterical, after witnessing a lot of weirdness, and get the hell out of there. They find a strange object with an insignia that beeps (there's that beeping sound again) and his partner picks it up. Later, one of the hunters has a strange experience on the bus:
Later in Seattle, while riding on a bus, a man sat down beside me wearing a ring that was an exact duplicate of the insignia. His hair was brown and his fingers seemed to be a little long, but other than that, you would never have been able to detect he was other than a human. When I saw the ring my hair stood on end. He got off at a bus stop and I never saw him again. I felt like he was aware that I was "tuned" into who he might be.

The story gets much, much stranger, with elements of MIBS, spooks, psy-ops, contactee stuff, crime, covert head games, and just general flying saucer high strangeness. Definitely worth reading.

Is it true, is part of it true, . . . is part B a screen memory for part A . . . who knows. Does it matter?
