A Strange Anniversary Conversation

Today is our 31st anniversary. Being old and tired, (but hardly bored with each other) (as you’ll soon see why) we agreed to stay home after a long hard day at work, enjoy our bottle of good wine and Trader Joe’s pizza, and each other. Tomorrow, rejuvenated with the weekend vibe (three day weekend for me!) we’ll go out and have fun.

So tonight, of course we’re watching the Larry King program because it’s the UFO show. (More on that later.) My husband, let’s say his name is, er, “George,” was pretty good about remaining quiet, although he managed to interject a good number of outraged sputterings, especially when Oberg was on, but overall, George behaved. It wasn’t until the very end of the program that George said to me:
“We've had weird UFO abductions or whatever happen,at least twice. That one in L.A. was the weirdest.

I did a huge “huh?!” I asked:
What do you mean, ‘at least twice?’ And, what do you mean, the L.A. one was the weirdest?!

In Oregon years ago, we saw the Orange Orb, that followed us on our way back in from Cottage Grove about 30 miles away. That incident included missing time and what I've always maintained a sighting of a silver sphere hovering above a pasture on the way out.

Turns out that’s wrong. At least according to George.

So we shouted at each other -- out of excitement and ‘wtf’s” not in anger -- just your basic abduction confusion:
Me: “What do you mean, that’s wrong! We saw that orb coming back from Cottage Grove when we lived on Friendly St.!”
George: “No, we saw it when we lived on Hilyard."

Oh boy.

So we went round and round, and it turns out, according to George, this is what happened:
1. Something weird happened in L.A.
2. Something weird happened in Oregon, when we lived on Hilaryd St. near the University of Oregon.
3. Something weird happened when we lived off Lorane Highway, at the top of Friendly St.

George: No, no, you’ve combined two different sightings into one thing. Your memory’s been messed with.”

Me: “How do you know it isn’t YOU whose memory wasn’t messed with?”

(I was pretty proud of that one.)

George just looked exasperated. He insists he’s right. I remember it the other way.
I don't remember anything weird at all happening when we lived on Hilyard.

It’s quite possible of course he is right, and does remember the incidents more accurately than I. Regardless, it’s clear we’ve both experienced some very weird things through the years.

L.A. (West Hollywood area)

I remember that one just fine. Well, obviously not all of it. Neither one of us do. If we did, that’d be a different story. But we both agree on this one; we agree it happened, we agree it happened just the way we both remember it. Walking back from our favorite place, Barney's Beanery. What should have taken us an hour at the most -- maybe -- took us a good two hours. When we entered the apartment we commented how odd it was that it was suddenly 4 a.m., then went promptly to bed, only to wake up at four the next afternoon. We slept straight through, very surprised to find that we slept so late!

I did have a few strange UFO dreams back then; one in particular that I call the “Geisha Woman” dream, about a tall chalky white being with huge black wrap around eyes, “pretending” to be female, with me inside a glass domed UFO in space and George in some other part of the UFO. She was very intelligent and very emotionally cold, detached, and didn't give a damn that I was scared and angry that she wouldn't let me see George, who was being kept in another part of the craft.

But the reason why I say it wasn’t the strangest, is because we didn’t see any kind of craft that night. We didn't have a UFO sighting. Not a hint. But George says it’s the weirdest, because we both agree on everything; no arguments about who was where, etc. We agree on where we were coming from, where we were going, that a couple of hours of missing time occurred, that we commented to each other on the oddness of the late hour as we walked into the apartment but also went promptly to bed, not waking up until 4:00 the next day.

Hilyard St. (Eugene, Oregon, near the University of Oregon campus)
Well, don’t remember anything weird there. I mean, aside from the horrid, spoiled, evil fraternity and sorority morons that lived in the frat and "sor" houses surrounding our little apartment. God, what assholes. Other than that, nothing.

I remember a weird “UFO” dream at the time though, about a robotic alien type being entering our apartment and causing problems.

It's while we were living on Hilyard that George insists we saw the silver sphere. We saw it out on Lorane, going out to Cottage Grove. (That part I agree with.) Silver sphere, above a pasture, daytime, a beam of light coming down from underneath the thing. I said to George tonight that I always thought it was weird that a beam of light would be necessary in the daytime.

We agree on the thing we saw, and place, but not the timing. I remember it as on our way out the same time we saw the orange orb which was on the way back. And I remember we were living on Friendly St. at the time, while George insists it was Hilyard.

(One question I have about this is: if the orange orb sighting took place another time, where were we coming back from? The only thing out that direction is . . . Cottage Grove. We didn't know anyone who lived out that way, from our house to Cottage Grove. But as George mentioned, we did just take off and for long rides in the country back then; true. I loved to do that on the motorcycle. It's possible we weren't coming back from anywhere in particular, as in visiting someone, but just out for a drive.)

Friendly St. (Eugene, Oregon, at the corner of Lorane, semi-woodsy rural area in parts)
I remember the orange orb at night, on the way back from Cottage Grove to visit his friend. The friend George says we went to see a year or so earlier when we lived on Hilyard.

George doesn’t remember seeing an orange orb. He does remember me trying to call someone when we went into the house (on Friendly) but I ended up just putting the receiver down. After all who was I going to call? The police? Airport? At that time, I didn't know about MUFON, or anything related to reporting UFO sightings.

Dreams started then too. Awful dreams about being paralyzed in beams of light so strong I could almost see through things. The sense of people -- or beings -- above me. Not being able to move. Screaming my head off for George, who I knew was nearby, but also being taken. Did I just say “taken?” Christ.

History
George said “Obviously we didn’t have what they wanted,” and I agreed. We’ve never talked about that, but when he said it, it made sense, and I acknowledged I’ve thought that myself many times.

He also said:
“Then again, we’ve both had life long experiences with this weird stuff. Maybe they got what they wanted a long time ago.

George also mentioned the uncomfortable and strong awareness that "they" are present at times. I too have felt that. Last time I felt that was a few years ago in this house we're now in. We've been here about ten years. This feeling that "they" were in the room, listening, watching, was confirmed by others. (One of whom has had her own history, along with many family members, of Bigfoot, haunting and UFO encounters. Connections?)

We don't talk too in depth about these events except for a couple of times a year. It's too close and chilling and just plain weird. We both get highly uncomfortable; anxious and need to stop. And yet, we talk around these things every day.

Something happened, something seemed to have happened a few times with the both of us. Neither one of us remembers actually seeing any beings. It’s as if we’ve come up only so close to this phenomena, and then, a steel door seals shut on us.

Oh, and please, someone tell me it was just sleep paralysis. I dare you.

I’m still not willing to say we were abducted. I can’t say that, because I don’t even remember seeing aliens, let alone being inside a craft, or being rudely probed, etc.

But something happened. While obviously there are trickster mind control alien game playing shenanigans going on with screen or cover memories, the reality is, something very real -- just highly strangely real -- occurred. And more than once.

What Chemtrails Really Are

I saw this on Jeff Rense.com, also noticed Lesley at Debris Field posted the link: What Chemtrails Really Are. It’s not pretty, and the mind control part gives me the creeps. One question: how does this person know any of this for a fact? Or even a strong hypothesis? No sources, no anything. . . only strong opinions, presented as factual. Lots of connections made, lots of knowledge on related things, and it could be, but we don’t know.

Whatever it is, meanwhile, the spraying continues.

Sphere Syncrhonicity

Recent posts here have been around chemtrails and the spheres often seen in connection with them. And then I wrote about stepping outside, looking up at the trails, and seeing an orange sphere . . . that turned out to be a balloon! Today brought this link on The Debris Field and The Anomalist from Cabinet of Wonders: A Minor History of Giant Spheres.

Daniel Brenton: Published!

Daniel Brenton, blogger at The Meaning of Existence and All That, has been published! "For real," not that on-line publishing is invalid -- it isn't. But yea for Daniel, and congratulations! He is now officially, really, truly published. The title of the book is Red Moon, co-authored with David S. Michaels. You can find out more here.

Weather Modification

A bit clinical and not any of that fun juicy esoterica stuff but it’s worth reading for the facts of the thing:
EXPERIMENTAL WEATHER MODIFICATION COMING TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, SOON by Rosalind Peterson.

Bills on weather modification -- and it’s more than just making it rain more so the crops can grow.

The article addresses two new bills that don't answer to any oversight committees ... and mentions that there are over fifty weather modification programs in the U.S. right now. Peterson also mentions Dyn a mat, the company that can stop hurricanes.

Like UFOs, though of course there’s always a danger of sending this into kook land whenever one uses UFOs in the same arena as anything else, chemtrails are here. Look up! What they are, why they are -- those are other questions.

Some things I have no patience for, and don’t bother arguing, debating or “discussing” -- UFOs are one, chemtrails are another. Before I decide to expend my energy with another on these topics, we have to, at the very least, agree that they exist in the first place.

By the way, I’m not suggesting UFOs have anything to do with chemtrails, so don’t go there. (Although they share similarities, more of which I’ll write on later.)

It gets down to this: there are things up there that shouldn’t be, and they’re doing things they shouldn’t be doing.

As always, I refer you as well to Colin Bennett’s article
Chemtrails: A Fortean View on the topic of chemtrails.

Sunday Orb

Chemtrails
Recently chemtrails have been the topic around here. While I may mention them now and again, they are on my mind a lot. It can’t be helped; the things are up there almost on a daily basis.

Like many people, a few years ago I didn’t think about chemtrails much. I’d heard of them, as any esoterica buff would, but didn’t see what the controversy was. It all seemed too scientific and clinical in a vague way. But as I began to look both up to the skies and into the subject, I realized there was something going on. And it wasn’t (isn’t) just contrails.

I have yet to come across explanations -- satisfying explanations that make sense -- for: black beams shot out from near the nose of the plane. I’ve seen this twice. Plane going along; abruptly a beam of cloud or some substance comes shooting out from what appears to be the nose of the plane, or somewhere near the front.

The “explanations” offered by denialists have included such semantical nonsense as “I couldn’t possibly have seen a black beam since black isn’t a color,” “It was a shadow,” and of course, the old standby; I’m a liar.

I’ve seen white sky spheres -- machines -- moving slowly back and forth, in connection with the trails.

I’ve seen white, unmarked planes at extremely high altitudes, and speeds, leaving all kinds of trails behind.

I’ve seen trails that were thick, drippy, twirly, circular, X’s, elbowed or angled. I’ve seen huge squarish or rectangular shaped patches that stayed stuck in the same place in the sky for hours that were oily looking, with rainbow type colors. (The local paper called one of these a “natural phenomena” due to ice crystals. This on a hot July day, with lots of helicopter activity in the area a few days before and during.)

I think what Fortean author Colin Bennett has to say about this is excellent, and anyone even milady interested needs to read his article Chemtrails:A Fortean View.

Thanks to Cindy PDX for sharing her experiences and videos, and to everyone else, like Lesley of Debris Field, who also comments on the chemtrails in her area. Lesley of the Debris Field blog has also taken photos and video of weird things related to this.

There’s also all kinds of chemtrail forums out there, including the West Coast Chemtrails on Yahoo. Look to the menu on your right for the purple Yahoo sign up box.

Glowing Red Eyes
Kithra, who writes very well on weird things and folklore, wrote a piece on anomalous creatures with red glowing eyes. That inspired me to write about an experience I had with a being when I was a child. You can read about both on Women in Esoterica.

Native American Ancestry

There’s an idea that the majority of people with paranormal experiences and who study this field are Native American -- either enrolled in a tribe, or of that ancestry. (I’m Cherokee and Lenape.) I don’t know if this is true, and my little poll isn’t scientific in any way, but it’s interesting to see how it comes out. So far, those who’ve answered that they have Native ancestry are in the majority.

Bigfoot and Fairies

A relationship I’ve been interested in, and Lisa Shiel of Bigfoot Quest has an item on it. You can read more on my Bigfoot blog Frame 352.

The Great Gazoo Has Moved
I had a video clip stream going here of The Great Gazoo, the little green man from outer space from the Flintstones. I moved it over to Vintage UFO. Please take a look and leave comments. And if you have any unusual UFO related experiences you’d like to share that occurred before 1980, please E-Mail Me here.

The Patio Alien with Glowing Eyes

Kithra (Kithra's Krystal Kave) wrote a recent article on beings -- cryptids -- with red glowing eyes. That inspired me to write about an experience I had when I was young. You can read about both my experience, and Kithra's excellent piece, on Women in Esoterica.

The Almost Sphere, and Update from Portland, OR

Almost . . .
As we were leaving our house this evening to go to dinner (mmmm, birthday sushi!) I looked up at the heavily chemtrailed sky above me. And was a bit startled, because of the timing in the recent posts on the trials, to see an orange orb moving across the sky. I asked my husband if he saw it; not at first, but after a few moments he did. We watched it; an opaque darkish rust colored kind of orange making its way towards us, going over our heads, our house. . . and then we realized. It was a balloon. Still, a brief moment of slightly spooky synchronicity -- and the trickster laughing at the joke.

Update From Cindy PDX
On another note, read the recent comment from Cindy PDX, who lives in the Portland, Oregon area, and has been observing the heavy chemtrail activity there:
Regan, This is not a very good video, but wanted to show what I tried to tape on Oct 31st 2007 regarding purposely made CIRCLE / loopy contrails over SE Portland, Oregon.
I've lived here all my life, and NEVER have I seen so many loopy loops, circles and curved contrails - in a 2 hour time frame. I posted more info about the event on BoT under the UFO topic under the thread called : "Chemtrails - full force Again".

I uploaded this video on DailyMotion HERE
as well as on Youtube HERE

Someone saw my vid and sent me an email saying HE SAW THE SAME THING going on in SEASIDE, OR the same day! I thought it was the day before but he saw it the same day!

**sorry for the few cuss words in the video, but I was really shocked about what I was watching**

Mind you I live VERY close to PDX Airport - so I am positive this was not some Air show. And these were not caused by the wind because I caught them in the ACT of making them. They were either lost, wasting gas, or SPRAYING US.

To top that off, TODAY, Nov 3rd 2007 while outside in my yard, I see a few contrails in a straight path against the brilliant blue sky. However, some contrails made "X's" and I'll be d@mned! I watched / observed yet another WHITE SMALL SPHERE hovering above the one X contrail for close to 20 minutes! I could see it with my eyes, and found it in the binoculars, but only caught a few frames of it on video. It doesn't prove much but at least I know I was not seeing things. AND to top things off this white sphere was VERY similar to the TWO Spheres I watched for close to 30 minutes back on May 30 2007.

If you blink, you could lose sight of it or you may find it suddenly in a different spot within a blink of an eye. They hover and are very still. I rarely see them move - I see clouds or contrails move along but NOT these spheres.
They can go so easily undetected - I said it before, and I'll say it again.. they are VERY elusive lil' buggers! What they are, I have NO clue. Are they OURS or THEIRS?

That last question: ours or theirs -- is a good one. Who is “theirs” anyway? Like the black triangles, chemtrials are a mystery all right. The logical and rational answer is that they’re “ours.” Even so, there are some strange things that don’t add up. Both are global phenomena, both seem to defy known technologies, etc., there’s a large human force behind the manipulation of these events, air space legalities and human subject laws are at issue; all just for starters. None of these things negates the likelihood that they’re “ours” but it makes it all that much stranger.

Here are the links Cindy PDX mentions in her post:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3csq1_wth-are-they-spraying-oct-31-2007

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxnyr9SeZ-4

I’ve seen these circular ones as well; not very often, but I have seen them. Also ones that are “elbowed,” X’s, etc.

West Coast Chemtrails Forum

There’s a forum dedicated to chemtrail activity on the West Coast (and everywhere) on Yahoo. It’s actually one I started a few years ago but turned it over to a new moderator, “mirakulu” who is doing a very good job. Lots of activity over there. The link is on the menu on your right; look for Yahoo forums, West Coast Chemtrails.

WTH are they spraying? Oct 31 2007

This is a video of chemtrial activity in Portland, Oregon, by Cindy PDX. Read her comment on the last entry below. Also watch for another entry to follow this item.

More on Sky Spheres (formerly orbs)

On the recent post: Entering Trickster Fortean Land: Orbs in the Skies
Cindy PDX left a comment on yesterday’s entry: Entering Trickster Fortean Land: Orbs in the Skies. She said she calls them spheres, which is a good label. Use of the word sphere distinguishes the solid objects seen in the skies connected with trials from spirit/ghost or energy orbs.

Both Cindy PDX and another commentator, Dustin of the Odd Things blog, stated they’ve seen these spheres as well. So has Lesley of The Debris Field blog. Dustin and Lesley have photographs and video of what they’ve seen.

Another commentator - name of Jackamo -- had this to say:
The well documented (testimony, pictures, video)link between chemtrails
and the orbs/spheres that seem to manifest in the wake of a spraying
operation illustrates the limits of both "ufology" and some (but not
all) researchers into the chemtrail phenomena. Each subject can have a
tendency to define itself in terms of what its not even though exactly
the same objections are raised by both sides, the dreary chant of "this
will lose us credibility if we start talking about this" raises its
mundane head. The irony of the consensus reality bubble is that the
phenomena they both study, both chemtrails and "ufo's"

Good point. He recommends a site:
Speaking personally, the overwhelming body of testimony,
images and video suggest that "chemtrail spheres" do indeed have an
objectivity and the sooner both "camps" realize that each phenomena can
act as a window into the other, the more this will be discussed. For an
absolutely amazing website specifically devoted to chemtrails
and "ufos", go to Brenda Livingston's "tracers.8m.com" -

I visited the site, and found it to be very interesting. Brenda has a lot of specifics, details, and images.

And Cindy PDX replies again, this time to Jackamo’s comment, where she agrees with his points, and givers her favorable impression of the suggested website. She also mentions the white planes -- long, white planes, mentioned by many who make a study of these trials. These planes are odd; unmarked, long, white, and high up. Really high up.

Recently in Eugene, Oregon
Speaking of chemtrails, while out on the playground yesterday I saw one a’ coming from far off; I turned for a few seconds, it couldn’t have been more six seconds, certainly not more than ten, and when I looked up again, the trial was now past me! That’s awfully damn fast! It had made its way from way off, to over my head, and beyond. . . I didn’t notice any craft of any kind, but the speed of the trial surprised me.

Today there were more; including a huge, wide twisty one (often seen) above our home. I looked studiously, hopefully even, in hopes of getting some images, for spheres or other unusual things, but nothing.

Close to Home
Doing a search for chemtrails in my area (and specifically on the weird circle chemtrail a few years ago) I found this article from the Creswell Chronicle: (The town of Creswell isn’t far; about 12 miles from here.)
Spirits in the Skies?, byline Curt Deatherage from October 5th, 2006.

Deatherage writes about Coast to Coast, and how he’s been a listener for “ten or twelve years,” and in particular, about the night Art Bell had chemtrail researcher William Thomas on as a guest:
One program I recall vividly from 2000 was Art Bell interviewing William Thomas regarding the contrail/chemtrail controversy. I literally had no clue what a chemtrail was, so I listened with great interest and curiosity.
He goes on to say that, while he hadn’t given much thought to chemtrails, after listening to the program he started to look up. (like a lot of us.) And he found some interesting things. Including the circular trails I was looking for:
One of the most mysterious sightings in our skies occurred on July 24, 2003, about 2:30 in the afternoon, with numerous reports of sightings of five or six circular, interlocking contrails throughout western Oregon.

The Register-Guard reported, "the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the aircraft were performing "military peacetime training," possibly along the Oregon coast."
One thing I’ve always had an issue with about the comment concerning “military peacetime training . . . along the Oregon coast” was that these could be seen in Eugene, a good fifty miles from the coast.

I found the image from the Eugene Register Guard:

Colin Bennett on Chemtrials: A Fortean View
One of my favorite authors, Colin Bennett, wrote on chemtrails: Chemtrails: A Fortean View A New Look at a Mystery of the Skies in 2005.

On the visibility of the trails, Bennett writes:
This changing of the skies of the world full previously of traditional pantomime clouds to a sky scored by lines of whitish-grey streaks is totally ignored by major news, media, and communication outlets. This is strange again given that the effects are quite spectacular and beautiful when lit by the evening sun. The trails spread out at different rates, they come from different angles, and the aircraft that create them can be seen streaking across the sky, often several at once, and at extremely high speeds.

(He mentions the high speeds of the planes as well.) Yes, these things are up there and can be easily seen by anyone bothering to look. What astounds me are the ones that do look - often only after prodding to do so -- and their response, which is a shrug, a "well, huh, weird," and business as usual.

What is incredible is that Bennett, with many others on an international scale, did their own observations:
Over the past year, the Combat Diaries team have conducted a special investigation of chemtrails over Britain. With the help of specialists (some ex Royal Air Force), we conducted a 16 hour period of observation by web, telephone, and amateur radio of the skies over America and Central Europe, from first light to last light, taking into account time differences. The results were quite disturbing. It was obvious that simultaneous operation by large numbers of quite visible aircraft were being mounted over continental areas on both sides of the Atlantic. Through contacts, we managed also to get reports on this selected same day from the civilian staff of merchant and cruise ships crossing the Atlantic. They reported that sky trails were visible in whilst sailing in mid Atlantic.

Bennett goes on to mention the incredible speeds, unmarked white planes, and amazingly high altitudes of these planes. Ever the commentator on Fortean phenomena -- which includes the people as much as the phenomena -- is this insightful and all too true observation on the whys of people who deny, or just don't get it:
Our collective “not-seeing” is unusual if only because chemtrails are much more visible and more frequent than UFO visitations. We are forced to consider the idea that levels of conscious acceptance and recognition within a culture have often nothing to do with how much “evidence” is available. All anomalistic structures have this common peculiarity. Somehow, like a bioelectric switch, as a society we turn most anomalies “off” as far as social cognition is concerned. This is a most common effect. The phenomenon may be large or small, fantastic or mundane, it makes no difference. We cannot see the kitchen matchbox in front of us, say, because we are have been diverted into thinking about something else. We don’t have enough RAM to hold all our files open at the same time!

Entering Trickster Fortean Land: Orbs in the Skies

Curious about the white orb or sphere like objects I’ve seen twice now, I did an internet search. Nothing deep or terribly scientific, just an idle Google here and there on “weather climate control monitoring objects orbs” just to see what would turn up. I did “images” figuring if I saw something close to what I’d seen, I could look further.

About the orb (s) I’d seen. They weren’t orbs in the ghostly lights spirit energy see through “orbs” but solid, real machines. Both times I saw them in relation to chemtrails. I have no idea if they had anything to do with the trials or not, but that was the setting. I saw them both during the day, about three weeks apart, and in the same location; right in the skies above my home. Both times there was a witness present.

We (we being my spouse and myself) thought it was some kind of monitoring device; to track weather, something like that. Maybe to gather data due to chemtrail activity, maybe something else.

Over the past couple of years I’ve come across a few photos of similar looking objects, and in similar situations. So something is up there, doing something.

I found a similar photo again during my search that linked over to Mac Tonnies Post Human Blues blog, but every time I clicked on the link, it froze. Then I found this at the bottom of the Google image page:
In response to a legal request submitted to Google, we have removed 2 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read more about the request at here.

Things get stranger. I did a search for "orbs sky eugene oregon" and found this link. Scroll down a bit to “Alpehnhorn News Links Illness With Yellow Chemclouds, and click on photo. That’ll take you to more and a “click here for full story” which takes you briefly to what looks like a forum page and then -- whoosh -- a screen pops up in black with red lettering that the site’s been hacked by a Turkish terrorist group. Or anti-terrorist group. I don’t know what it’s about.
So okay then; we’ve entered the realm of trickster fortean land.

This morning I checked Lesley’s Debris Field, and find this. It’s not what I saw -- not white, nor sphere shaped -- but there have been a lot of things seen in the skies lately and in connection (seemingly) with mundane jets and trials, as well as the not so mundane trials.

Much closer to home, I found this on Rense.com. I did a search on his site: orbs chemtrails, and found this article from August of 2000 about trails and orbs. Photo accompanies report.

What does it all mean? I have no idea; though there are a lot of possibilities of course. They could be true so-called ‘ET UFOs,” plain old UFOs (well, they are that) simply man made objects to monitor effects of trials, or the weather, spy bots, who knows. Someone knows of course, but it isn’t any of us.

For those of us looking up and taking photos of these things, it’s data, and we know what we saw. It’s maybe not so surprising I guess that if you make the concentrated effort to look up all the time -- really look up -- you’ll see all kinds of things up there that, ostensibly, shouldn’t be there.

The Oregonian: It came from outer space

From the Portland, Oregon newspaper The Oregonian:
It came from outer space, says MUFON’s assistant state director Keith Rowell of West Linn.

However, according to a post on UFO Updates by Keith Rowell, the article contained “factual errors” that he’s not responsible for.

Redfern on Coast to Coast!

Nick Redfern will be the guest on Coast to Coast this Thursday!

Non-extraordinary Reactions to Extraordinary Things

Regardless of the cause behind the UFOs, the fact is the UFOs exist, and we have every right to talk about our observations and experiences.

That's a quote from me. Yes, I'm quoting myself. My recent piece on UFO Digest, on the orb/UFO sighting of the Lafuers in Albany, Oregon and chronic skeptics.

Sunday Orb

Vintage UFO
Seems I’ve been productive with anomalous stuff and yet not producing much at the same time. A lot of it has to do with working full time and health. And yet I’ve managed to start up another blog, which I’m liking very much: Vintage UFO. Among other things, right now there’s a YouTube video of UFO Mystic's Greg Bishop in front of the Integraton at Giant Rock, California.

Tim Binnall and Binnall of America

As the earlier post below urges, contribute a little something to Tim Binnall’s website. He does an incredible job of bringing us anomalous junkies podcosts, columns, etc. every week. All for free. It takes a lot of effort and expense to do this. So any bit helps.

Oregon UFO
One UFO sighting making the news lately is of a couple in Albany, Oregon (roughly 60 miles north of me) who saw a UFO at night while they were out smoking (cigarettes, no lame drug jokes please.) The UFO split into two; shortly after they saw an orange orb fly very close to them, emitting sparks. What’s intrigues me most in some ways are some of the comments made about this: that this isn’t news of any kind. The fact that there are weird, unidentifiable things in the sky doing odd things is far more newsworthy than anything about Paris Hilton. Much more on this to come: concerning this case, related cases (including my own) and the mindset that is so jaded it can’t muster interest in machines above our heads.

Classic Abduction Scenario
One thing I’m working on, and might put it up soon, possibly for UFO Digest, if Dirk will kindly have me, is the idea I’ve been abducted. I don’t have this idea mind you, but others do.

Support Binnall

Tim Binnall, who runs the Binnall of America website, does an incredible job. His site is well put together and has a lot to offer: forums, podcasts, articles. Yes, I write for him; my column is Trickster's Realm. But that's not why I'm shamelessly plugging his site.

Tim consistently brings the rest of us great interviews with the top researchers, writers and thinkers in esoterica. He's into it all; UFOs to Bigfoot, and everything in between. He knows his stuff and has a nice style; he asks good questions, yet allows the person he's interviewing to say what they want to say. (He also does a nice job with the music and intros.)

And he does this all for free. He puts an unimaginable amount of time and effort into all this, and does a great job. Again, for free. Like others, Peter Davenport of NUFORC, John Greenwald of Black Vault, UFO Digest, etc. Tim provides us anomalist junkies with a quality resource for free. (Are you listening C2C?)

Tim, like many (Greenwald, etc.) do ask for donations. He has a PayPal button on his site; easy to do. So I urge those of you who can to donate a little something towards the expense of keeping Binnall of America going. There isn't anything as too little; after all, $5.00 is better than no dollars.
